2018 BMW X5 5.0 - 9300 mi. Traded 2019 X5 because I enoyed the driving experience of the previous model with hydraulic steering vs BMW's horrible new fully electronic steering. I was willing to trade a newer X5 for an older one. Crazy? Nope. Drive the two and see for yourself. Came to terms with Frank Alsides - General Manager on trade of 2019 for 2018. Negotiated fair price for trade - and purchase price. Signed applicable paperwork and made deal contingent on having the vehicle inspected by my long time independant BMW mechanic. Glad I did. Inspection revealed that driver's side front Q-panel, driver door, rear door all showed evidence of a collision repair. Mis-aligned seams, orange peel paint, bondo and waviness of door panels. These were all apparent when vehicle was on a lift and could be seen at eye level. Curiously, Carfax listed "windshield glass repair"and two wheels repaired". I just thought previous owner had curbed the wheels which were then repaired and that windshield may have had road damage. Makes sense now as the vehicle had clearly been in an accident with windshield and wheels being repaired as well as body panels. None of this was disclosed by the dealer who hid behind the old "we only know about damage if it's on the Carfax report". B.S. Come to find out that the dealer had tried and failed to sell vehicle at auction a month prior. No takers. Wholesale buyers must have seen damage and stayed away. Much more to the story but cancelled purchase contract with dealer all the while saying they were in the dark about the collision damage. Right. Demanded return of my (potential) trade. When we got it back, all our personal posessions had been thrown in a black plastic garbage bag. They had started to prep the vehicle for sale and even scraped my TollTag from the windshield. He later told me to go on-line and get a replacement myself! They didn't even own the vehicle and were cleaning out all our property. Anyway, had I not had the X5 checked out by a third party I would have been sold a vehicle with substantial undisclosed collision damage. The dealer blames Carfax but anyone with sense knows Carfax is manipulated by unscrupulous dealers and many times isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Such is the case here. Moral: never take their word for any representation about condition or history. Have any vehicle bought here inspected prior to purchase. it's the best $130 you'll spend. Also, dealer refused to pay for the cost of the vehicle inspection that found the deception. Go figure. I'll stick with dealer offered CPO vehicles from now on. You just can't trust people like this.

Addison Autoplex did not disclose the dangerous condition of the suspension and steering on a truck I purchased. Not only did the manager claim that he'd personally driven the truck and it was safe and reliable but subsequent inspections by independent shops thought he'd tried to conceal the poor condition. The truck's wheel nearly fell off on the highway when I tried to drive it back to them. Also the control arm was against the spring, causing it to veer violently whenever it hit a bump. He swore it was safe for my elderly mother to ride it. What a lie. He's now refusing to reimburse the $2000 I had to spend just to make it drivable/safe. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH [non-permissible content removed]. They did their best to screw me.
