2005 Toyota Tundra 4dr Access Cab SR5 4WD SB (4.7L 8cyl 5A)

Chose Tundra over Honda Ridgeline / Nissan Frontier for EXCELLENT ride, good power, 6.5 foot bed, quality and overall feel. Am very satisfied. The truck just has a great feel - quiet, smooth, plenty of power. Interior is kind of dated - no fancy chrome but ergonomics are great - most controls easy to reach / use. Typical toyota layout. The 5spd automatic is especially well-designed - shifts VERY smoothly and at just the right time. Front right speaker was BAD upon delivery, but dealer replaced quickly and have had no other problems yet(only 4k miles though) .....

Best Features

1. Engine - smooth and very powerful 2. Transmission - really works well 3. Ride - controlled and tight 4. Stereo - has JBL with door tweeters, fairly good for stock unit 5. Seats / driving position = perfect for me

Worst Features

1. Seat fabric is too plush / old- fashioned. Gets dirty too easily. TRD trucks should use the same rougher SPORT fabric as the 4Runner sport. 2. Cruise control lever is hard to see / use. Move to steering wheel. 3. Would be willing to trade just a little power to get 20 mpg highway.
