Out of the box, works like a Porsche

ReviewA head turner. The indigo ink access cab 4x4 is great looking. Made me look into pickups (I had a 1989 two-door Montero that is an awesome BEAST) as a new means of transport. Drives like a car, interior is spartan beauty (oxymoron, but it works), storage is phenomenal, and instrumentation is thoughtfully placed and effective. Performance with the 6 spd manual trans. is responsive and throaty. Yes, a throaty pickup. Went with the sport package, and glad for that -- great price package through USAA buying service with the dealer. They through in a little lagniappe: the slidable D-rings in the bed. The orange lighting is a little 1980s, but hey, that's not entirely bad, is it?
Best FeaturesStorage and looks are best in class. You just cannot do better here. Acceleration and braking are comparable with sports sedans. Bed liner and mat are well designed, with good materials. High quality fit and finish. Rear door design on access cab is spot on -- size, opening, and inside handle.
Worst FeaturesDoes not corner as well as other comparable 4x4 vehicles. Gas mileage improvements a must. That orange lighting (my wife says it might even be slightly pink -- dang). Cup holder section in console: allow for it to be lifted out of a cutout (for customization purposes). Small stuff, all in all.
