2005 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited 7-Passenger Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
This vehicle made perfect sense for my family with three children. Timing couldn't be better, either, with some summer trips to the mountains planned. The roof rack is very sturdy and Yakima makes planting the bikes up there an easy proposition for under $300. However, like another guy said elsewhere, running boards would make this task a bit easier. But $2,000?! I feel a little like a soccer dad driving this rather immense vehicle around, but once you get used to it, the Sienna feels very car-like. On the other hand, I piled some 4x8 foot plywood among other manly Home Depot pieces to get my machismo back. My main complaint are the too many gadgets to "protect" you - beepers/buzzers.
Exceptional quality everywhere. Roomy. Cupholders galore. Folding rear seats. Killer audio system. Steering wheel radio controls. Sliding side doors with windows that roll down. Great engine and power. Wonderful braking and handling.
Wish the rear window popped open. Need to mellow out a bit on the idiot beepers (it reminds me to swing by Home Depot, home of the beeping forklift!). Air noise at freeway speeds. Plug in outlets need key on to operate. Rear bumper ledge not same height as floor. Wrestling match to remove rear seats
2005 Toyota Sienna LE 7-Passenger Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
This car is smooth as silk over the road and probably the quietest car I've ever driven. The 8 way power drivers seat with power lumbar is the best I've ever sat in and I'm 6' tall. All the gadgets and controls are easy to navigate. The transmission shifts are so subtle, the only hint that it is shifting is the change in RPM on the tach. The fit and finish of this car is very nice and the quality is very good. The engine is plenty powerful for any task. The brakes are very good with just a slight pressure on the pedal, our van has 4 wheel disc, I highly recommend. The JBL sound system and DVD player is icing on the cake. The kids are plenty occupied on a trip with their wireless headphones.
All the safety features, stability control, side airbags, the front seat airbag that turns itself off with a light passenger in the seat, the tire pressure monitor is a nice addition, the JBL sound system and DVD player.
Some have complained about having just one power door, but the drivers side doesn't really need to be power and I don't mind that, the lazy susan in the Honda would be nice but short of that, this van has everything I wanted and then some. Nice job Toyota.
2005 Toyota Sienna XLE 7-Passenger Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
We switched from an SUV to this van and have never regretted it for one second. Its sporty, lots of pep, and drives like a luxury sedan. We like everything about it!!!!! We compared the Dodge,Honda, and Chevy Uplander. The dodge felt very cheep, drove like a 1995 caravan with different body and the seats were razor thin and very hard (but I guess you have to give up something for 2nd row stow and go....) and the Honda felt like you were driving a very big full size fan that was about an inch off the pavement. The Uplander was underpowered, exterior design is terrible, and doesn't have a lot of the little handy items that the Sienna has. Don't waste your time comparing, go for the Sienna.
Pwr Sunroof, 2nd row power windows, rear seat that folds into floor, cup holders, ability to change 2nd row seating, engine power, nice ride, mileage, sound system, and everything else this van has to offer!!!!
Maybe add a remote starter.
2005 Toyota Sienna CE 7-Passenger Fwd 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 5A)
The Sienna CE is our second Toyota minivan, and we purchsed it due to the outstanding reliability of our '93 Toyota Previa minivan. The Sienna is a good overall value, but has an unacceptable level of road noise for a Toyota. The ride is equally out of character for Toyota quality. Both issues are evident and compounded on long trips. Our 13 year old Previa has a better ride that our new Sienna. The Sienna CE is not for the family that travels.
Deep cargo area. Fold down back seats. V6 engine.
Reduce road noise. Improve ride...too rough.
