2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

The V6 has power and makes the car fun to drive. It is great on the highway. But there is a lot of wind/road noise in this car. For a car of this price, I was surprised that there was so much road noise that it makes conversation difficult without raising voices and feeling like you are yelling. The driver's seat is uncomfortable during any longer drive. The seat should be more like an upgraded Camry seat instead of an ordinary budget seat. The passenger's seat seems to be more comfortable even without all the adjustments. It is a good urban car.

Best Features

V6 power with decent fuel economy on the highway (not so much in town). Lots of space for rear passengers and cargo.

Worst Features

Upgrade the driver's seat. Find a way to lessen the road/wind noise. Add compass. The cupholders do not seem to hold anything well. Not sure why they do not seem to have any standard.

2007 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 4A)

Review

Layout and design is the best out of all the other SUVs I have looked at. More leg room in rear than any other SUV. Overall it is just what I was looking for. Fuel mileage is acceptable and power is good for a 4 cylinder. Handling and ride are good along with attention to detail when building. If you buy this vehicle just don't plan on using cruise control if you get a 4 cylinder version. You will not be happy with the way it performs. Before you buy do a search for 06 and 07 RAV4 cruise control problems and you will see what I am talking about. Toyota dropped the ball on this one.

Best Features

Toyota quality and reliability with the entire car as to be expected with the exception of the cruise control.

Worst Features

When using cruise control going uphill (not steep hills) it will downshift several times and back to where it was. RPMs jump from 2000 to 6500 in seconds.

2007 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

I am handicapped and wife does all the driving. She loves everything about it! She just finds it fun and the least tiring of our other toyotas (four 6 cyl Camrys) We are on our 4th Toyota (I used to drive) and this is the best ever. It drives better with a full load, 4-5 people. The only thing I added is a wind/bug deflector.

Best Features

A short person appreciates the side opening rear door; the acceleration is great but not for a "lead foot" which really sucks the gas for poor mpg.

Worst Features

An increase in real time mpg would be helpful. A short article on synthetic oils in the manual would have been nice. Extended oil change intervals with its use?? Optional running boards would aid my entry/exit.

2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Owned a 1993, 4 cyl, 5-speed manual trans, Toyota Corolla wagon. Felt ready for something different, but didn't want to loose what I liked about the wagon. Spent about 6 months researching and driving cars. Top choices that I test drove were: Honda CR-V, Honda Element, Subaru Outback, Toyota Highlander and Toyota RAV4. RAV4 won out.

Best Features

6 cyl power/get up and go, driver's side comfort and ergonomic features, sunroof, backseats adjust for leg length, height, feels like a bigger car than it actually is.

Worst Features

Aesthetic look and feel of interior fabric could better match the price of the car.
