This is a right hand drive driven in Australia. I've driven the rav in the rain, on the beach, dirt roads and from short trips to over 6 hrs at any time. It will go just about anywhere with great comfort. It has more than enough room and power from the 4 cyl. I can get about 500k from a tank of petrol.
The AWD is the best, great pickup and handling. The build quality is the best.
Put 700 miles on it the first week-end. Got 35 MPG on mainly level interstate with an automatic. Cruise control stayed "locked on" to correct setting even when crossing the Smokey Mountains in NC/TN. Not as comfortable as my Camry XLE, but then not supposed to be. Loaded a lot of stuff into it without any problems.
Side swinging rear door, performance, MPG, audio controls on steering wheel, lots of standard features such as power door locks & mirrors, cruise, CD player & cassette deck, etc.
Place speedometer in center and move tachometer over. Seats could be more comfortable. DRL's should be standard. Get rid of the ashtray and lighter; Camry does not have them giving more "boxes" for storage.
This is my 4th Toyota and it's my favorite. The height of an SUV yet small enough to drive like a car really appealed to me. Has excellent handling, great gas mileage, and is just a pleasure to drive. Owned just for 7 months and already put 12000 miles on it - makes you want to travel! Lots of storage space between fold-down back seats and rear area.
Riding height; great gas mileage; smooth ride; good handling; cargo cover; back door swings open to side - easier to load into; and the expected reliability of a Toyota.
Ease slightly cramped front driver seat, make keyless entry standard (offered but not standard with vehicle).
