2000 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV

Review

We have had our Rav4 for over 3 years. Never needed any service, besides regular maintenance. It would have been nice if Toyota put an extra 1 to 2 feet in length as the back seat hardly has any legroom. We drove across country to San Diego, was there for 6 months and drove back and it performed perfect. If you don't need a lot of room, buy this vehicle. Reliability - Committment to excellence

Best Features

Easy driving, all of Interior, Rear seats fold up for hauling more stuff. Great factory stereo AM/FM CD/Cassette.

Worst Features

Needs larger cup holders, Put on 1 to 2 more feet in length.

2000 Toyota RAV4 L Special Edition 4dr SUV AWD

Review

An overall wonderful small SUV. The build quality is rock solid. My experience with reliability has been excellent, I have never owned a vehicle so reliable. The engine and transmission work wonderfully, and the engine is suprisingly powerful for a 2.0 L.

Best Features

Front end styling, extremely versatile interior, ride qaulity, reliability, build quality, and it's outstanding stereo.

Worst Features

An option of a V6 and a column mounted automatic transmission gear selector would be the only improvements I would suggest. I think the vehicle could use a little extra room in the front and a little walkway like through the front seats.

2000 Toyota RAV4 4dr SUV

Review

I bought this RAV just about 5 years ago and
have yet to experience one mechanical
problem. Exterior is solid and interior has
also held up well. Gets decent gas mileage for
a little SUV (both city and highway) and I have
taken it on long road trips without a problem.
Lacks power on mountainous roads and hills,
though and I have had it floored to keep up
with the Speed Limit in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. Great quality overall!

Best Features

Privacy glass, wagon-type door, alarm, rear wiper

Worst Features

standard cargo net for trunk, better power, bring back the EV version, smaller blind spots

Review

I have had my RAV 4 for 4 years, and it
has NEVER needed any service(other than
typical maintance and has been one of
the most reliable cars I have owned.
It is comfortable, other than the small
back seat(not too great for adults),and
has alot of cargo room. It also has
alot of pep(I have a 5 speed), as much
as any sports car I have owned in the
past. Great car!!!!

Best Features

Easy access(not too high), lots of cargo space, reliable.

Worst Features

Larger, more comfortable back seat.

2000 Toyota RAV4 L Special Edition 4dr SUV

Review

We watched Rav from day-one. In 2000,
my husband surprised me for my B-day
with a RAV4L (ltd edition). I love the
large windows & almost no blind spots;
I sit up high enough for a birdseye
view without needing a ladder to get
in! I love the smaller steering wheel
and it turns on a dime; park it
anywhere. The mileage can't be beat for
highway road trips; city isn't bad
either. Seats are formed & back-
supporting. Everything is at your
fingertips. It's a dream to drive. I
love my RAV4L, can you tell? Get
metallic green!

Best Features

Lg. Windows, Easy to read dashboard, Comfy back-supporting seats, Foot rest for left-foot, Perfect height on the road, Side-opening tailgate(!), & Ltd Edition has two hanging-slide off shoulder bags ... oh-so-handy, really adjustable headrests and great sounding stereo system

Worst Features

Overhead drop-holder for sunglasses; taller/deeper between the seats compartment; deeper & larger-around cup holders; Sunvisors w/hidden pull-down sunscreen 3-5" long (also center-edge sunscreen extenders); sturdy holder for a pen/pencil; angled phone holder
