Used 2005 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Best value for money
With gas prices soaring , this car is ur best bet. I get 41 mpg since I drive at 60-65mph speed. If u drive faster the mpg drps to 38 which is still good. Overall the car is best value for money.A very reliable car.
Satisfied
With 137,000 miles I have yet to make any repairs. My mechanic told me to keep it well serviced which I have been doing, and it will last me almost for ever. Three days ago it was badly damaged when some one ran into the side. I felt like crying. The car has been very reliable and so good on gas especially since I do so much driving. If it cannot be fixed I will definately be getting another Corolla. It has served me well so far. If I was given the opportunity to change to another car I would not. I love my Corolla.
Get some snow tires...
I bought this car back in April of last year and posted a review in July. Since then, I've had my first experience with it in snow and have some advice for those that want to buy one - get. some. snow. tires! The performance tires that come on the car are great on dry asphalt but I couldn't do a thing with the car once a half inch of snow was on the ground. No go; no stop; no turn.
What I like
This car has one of the best engines on the market. Performance is amazing even when driven under harsh conditions. The exterior is crisp, sharp and up with the times. I love the size on the inside. The Corolla S Type is roomy and offers great head room. Of all the small cars I have owned in the past, the Toyota Corolla S is the top of the crop.
VROOOOMMMMM!!!!
I was smiling as I passed a Bemer heading up a steep incline this morning! Overall, a great car!!! However, with the 170 hp engine, the gas mileage suffers as compared to the other Corolla models-I'm averaging about 30 mpg which is primarily 90% highway (ok, averaging 80 mph-it's hard to keep this baby down!) You should also be aware that the engine requires a high octane gas and comes equipped with summer tires as it's considered a performance vehicle. Finding replacement winter tires/wheels for 195/55/16 size ran me another $917 (finally found them on the internet.) OUCH! Now that I've swallowed these surprises, I'm back to smiling every time I turn over the engine. VROOOOMMM!!!
