Used 1992 Toyota Corolla Consumer Reviews
Great car
I really hate to part with this car. I like the small steering wheel and the size of the car. It has very good trunk room.
Bob
I had one of these (named Bob!) for about 2 years. The complaints everyone else wrote about are true. The door handles are extremely fragile! I only had the drivers side one left by the time I traded it in. And the car does shake really bad once you get going really good which is somewhat unnerving. I had to replace all the belts in it, the water pump and the starter. But that was the only work I did to it and it had 140,000 miles on it. The only other thing was it started this thing of not wanting to start whenever it got below 10 degrees. Any other time it was fine! I traded it in before I could get to the bottom of that problem. Overall: fine car! With loads of personality!

Reliable workhorse
We bought this new in 1991 and still drive it everyday. Blew the first motor at 177,000 due to my neglect to check the oil. Second motor has about 90,000 miles now, guess it's time to recheck the oil. Very reliable, efficient. Electrical has had minor repairs, altinater & ignition switch. Plus door handles have broken off. I trust my corolla to get me there, will buy another.
dependable
I have had my corolla for over 4 years and it was a good choice, it has 340000 km. I have had problems with the exhaust manifold, and sevre body rust. It is sluggish on the highway because it is just a 3 speed automatic.
nothing like a corolla
i have only had my corolla for about a year and i love it. it may only have 102hp but it still goes. it was built to last if you take care of it. i clean mine all the time and it stays pretty. its fun to drive, and you know it will keep going. never had any major machanical problems, and there are only 2 little rust spots that i will fix here in the near furure. i would tell everyone to own a corolla if it were possible. the best car ever built!
