Overview
The Camry is Toyota's midsize sedan that offers more space and comfort than the smaller Corolla. It's been a fixture in Toyota's lineup for over 40 years, evolving and growing in size with each generation. While it may not be the most exciting vehicle out there, the Camry stakes its claim as one of the most dependable and pragmatic choices. It was last redesigned only two years ago, which is why we don't expect any big changes for the 2027 Toyota Camry.
Edmunds spotlight: The hybrid advantage
With each passing year, hybrids just keep getting better. The 2027 Toyota Camry is a great example. This is the only version of the Camry that Toyota currently sells. The EPA estimates that it will get up to 51 mpg in combined city/highway driving. That's Toyota Prius-like fuel economy. Another bonus: Hybrids don't cost as much as they used to. If you are cross-shopping the Camry with other midsize sedans, you'll find that the Camry's pricing is pretty competitive.
Competitors to consider
The Toyota Camry is one of our favorite midsize sedans. We also recommend the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Kia K5. The Accord and Sonata are available with hybrid powertrains. You could also check out the Toyota Crown if you want something slightly snazzier.
