Bought used in 2004 with 45K. The vehicle has 160K and running great. The only repair was the tranny at 98K but covered under 100K warranty, that was close, repair would have been $4,000 at dealer. The cat converter went out at 110K, warranty expired. That was 2 years ago, no problem since. Brakes have been replaced. Good comfortable vehicle. Everyone that drives my vehicle always comment on how smooth it drives.
JBL 6-cd changer, comfort, XLE package and reliability.
I purchased this car today from the 3rd owner. It was well cared for and it shows. My Camry has a 5 speed. The shift throw is not as tight as a Passat but it does a good job. I bought this car over anything i test drove. Really a good car. This is my second Camry and only the second car I have been totally happy with.
Simple instrument layout, very comfortable drivers seat for a base model, no major issues after 165,000 miles, paint in good condition, I fit at 6'4", quiet ride, better than other cars in class. Able to pay cash without batting an eye for a good car.
Bought new and so far no major repairs. Brake problems when new but they replaced the master cylinder. Regular oil changes with synth., change transmission fluid every 30 K (what's in the pan). Otherwise, spark plugs once, and front pads at 114K.
We bought this car new & expected to drive it 20 years. At about 100,000 miles valve guides are leaking oil and the estimate is $2,714.00 to fix it. Also front brakes are not that good for weight of car. We are considering selling it. We are really not happy with Toyota. They would not provide any compensation for an engine that should have had no major problems until at least 300,000 miles.
body style with the rear spoiler is hot, like a classic camaro basically. very solid car. Fun to drive -- really with this particular camry I feel like it is a sports car when driving it (almost).
interior center console was plastic or rubber & rotted out only after a couple years. They sell you a whole new console just to replace those cup holders. Overdrive off switch broke after a couple years, still under warranty. Front brakes not strong enough for weight of car. gas mileage not that
Couldn't be more boring, at a stop light you could be surrounded by 3 more of the same color as yours. But who cares. Its the best car I have ever owned. Drove it for over 7 years and it never failed me once. Went through brakes frequently and OEM tires failed at 25k. Stereo was great. Everything always worked all the time. Never had a single repair only maintenance. It had 111k, miles when I sold it for 7k in 09. Wanted a Sienna. It was fine but I should have held onto the Camry. Got great gas mileage. 28 in the city. Its nice that it doesn't have a timing belt, only a chain so no need for that service. Will be hunting for one with side airbags next time.
Paint still looked good after 7 years. Overall design was good. Simple car and extremely practical. I should have kept it and drove it to the ground, probably would have taken 20+ years.
