    Exceeded Expectations!

First thought... on the non luxury side I all these positive reviews on Hyundai and Kia EV's. Sorry but I still want better overall quality than what Hyundai and Kia offer while Toyota still builds better quality vehicles. When the bZ4x '23 thru '25 first came out I was interested, however, Toyota built this vehicle half heartedly. With the major upgrades in 2026 Toyota apparently decided to get serious and corrected many of the complaints owners and reviewers presented on the bZ4x. 1. starting with the name, just bZ 2. offering non black wheel wells 3. removing the tunnel around the driver display 4. larger batteries for AWD models... from previous 226hp to now 338hp 5. adapting the standard North American Charging System (NACS/SAE J3400) port (Tesla) which vastly improved the charging time 6. also now with battery pre-conditioning 7. display screen from Lexus 14" multi-media screen 8. Lexus style glove box At 6'2" I found overall room to be more than adequate, headroom, seats are comfortable... With only 400 miles driven, so far I am very pleased with how it drives, both handling, braking and steering. Let's not forget the power? At 75 that's was not a requirement of mine but I must say I enjoy having it! Overall, this vehicle has exceed expectations!!!

There is nothing to be rated below zero in the bz

The bz surpasses expectations in all regards. There is nothing to be rated below zero in the bz except perhaps its emissions profile! There are numerous design features, though seemingly small, that significantly add to one's driving experience. E.g. a sliding panel to expand the sunvisors to block blinding sunlight, a well organized and well placed auto control screen, paddle shifters for degenerative braking on the steering column, antiglare rear view mirror, very comfortable seats, and two charging adapters for all occasions, etc. All features have been carefully thought out making it an excellent choice for a long term driving experience.

The Stylish, Surfing, Quick Toyota BZ

    R Baxter Miller, 02/19/2026

The 2026 hype has not caught up to the car's excellent polish and precision. The AWD chill white model achieves 267 miles on a charge at 70 miles per hour on a 140-mile mountainous route from Bryson City, NC to Roswell, Georgia. But the car will do 99 miles a KW on a descent from 3,000 feet above sea level into downtown Bryson as well as 47 miles a KW on the flat land. Regarding an EVIQ home setup, the auto will charge from 36% to 80% in 4 hours and 30 minutes, faster than a Chevrolet Equinox. Despite fabric seats (I'm allergic to leather) and some hard plastic, a nevertheless quality interior provides a comfortable ride. Acceleration is too seamless for an informal racer unless the software is set to thrill. Unlike the 2011 and 2021 combustion Venzas, the BZ lacks a sports mode. After all, the normal setting achieves a splendid performance. There's 338 horsepower. While the tech menu is embedded within discreet screens, they work well. There are physical knobs for audio and temperature control. Better yet, the car's language and precision are Toyota.

    Big mistake

I was not ready for an EV. After the lease, I will not get another EV ever again. Insurance is very expensive—$2,000 a year (even with home and 2 other cars)—and I have a clean driving record. After factoring in insurance and the cost of electricity, there is no savings. A hybrid is the way to go. Unfortunately, I leased ($3000 down, $424 monthly) this because my 15-year-old RAV4 broke down and there were no RAV4s available in my area. It was a huge mistake. I can't wait for these three years to pass so I can return it.
