Wishing a warm thank you to Richard. I went into Toyota North Miami about a week ago after my 2008 Mazda finally gave out on me. Ever since I started shopping around, I was being contacted by sleazy dealers every single day trying to lure me to the dealership. Even at Toyota, I was initially assigned to a dealer who was obviously a new hire and not attentive to my needs. However, after ditching him, I ran into Richard at the used lot. From the beginning, he was different from the rest. He wasn’t pushy, didn’t try to force a car or a sale on me. Instead, based off my interests, he suggested a car I could test out. I even asked to test drive 2 other vehicles and he was more than willing and able. His poise and patience made me feel comfortable. My father came along with me and the two even hit it off(professionally). Ultimately, Richard made my car buying experience a breeze. I’d definitely recommend anyone thinking of visiting this dealership to go through Richard.

What a terrible experience!!! We, my wife and I, had an appointment set up for today Monday (2/14/22) at 1:00 pm for a test drive. The vehicle we had the testing scheduled for is a RAV4 PHEV This was done after an exchange of emails making sure that the time, and specially the vehicle we wanted, was available. I was assured that indeed that was the case. So, we got to Doral Toyota at 12.59pm, asked for "Nani" the internet sales contact. And we were told to wait. After about 15 minutes waiting I went and asked again and a salesman came to help us. Well it turns out Nani was on the phone with someone else at the time, and the vehicle we wanted...well they did not have it. Granted, it is a very sought after car. But, please, do not lie to potential customers. Do not make us both take time away from work to go there when you do not have the vehicle. Honesty escapes some salespeople. I do not know if this is a common practice at Doral Toyota, but it leaves much to be desired. I guess they lost a potential client, maybe it will affect my decision to purchase a Toyota in the future. Nani, please don't lie. Doral Toyota, please be honest

Step up from older RAV4 Hybrid

2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
I traded in my 2016 RAV4 Hybrid Limited for the 2022 version of the same model and trim. The trade-in offer for my 2016 was just too juicy to ignore, even while I had to pay the full MSRP for the new one. Further, there was essentially no waiting time as the dealer happened to have one available (due to a cancelled order) with essentially every feature (even color scheme) I would have … specified. A rare dumb luck case of being at the right place at the right time. Gas prices had just spiked to $4.00/gallon, so the few hybrid vehicles the dealer was able to get were being immediately gobbled up. As I write this, gas is now getting closer to $5.00/gallon. I'm feeling particularly fortunate acquiring this vehicle when I did.
Now that I've driven the new model, I realize I would have waited the months it would have taken if I had to place a cold order.
Pretty much everything is a step up from the 2016 hybrid (and I liked that one a lot): A more refined ride, superior gas mileage, much improved punch/acceleration, increased horse power, higher ground clearance, interior ambient lighting, excellent and additional technology appointments, and more.
My driving environments include flat Florida highways and suburban roads, seriously twisting, steeply inclined mountain roads in mid-Atlantic ski country, and some light off-road routes to out-of-the-way fishing spots. The added power is going to help especially with ascending the mountain roads. The acceleration improvement is a welcome change on the highway when passing and generally getting out of the way. The on-demand AWD is plenty capable for moderate off-road and snow travel adventures.
I'm going to upgrade the OEM Dunlop tires for better cornering and traction in inclement weather conditions.
Some reviewers complain about the vehicles being noisy, but I find the 2022 model noticeably more quiet than its 2016 counterpart. Maybe add some carpeting for added noise dampening if that's an issue? For me it is not.
Also, some reviewers caution that headroom and legroom might be limiting factors for taller drivers. I'm 6' 3'' and weigh 190 lbs. I have no problem with either. In fact, I often wear a hat while driving with no issues.
I'm very pleased with the cargo space, build quality, SUV height with sedan quality ride, all the tech and safety features.......pretty much everything about this car. Assuming it proves as reliable and lasts as long as my former Toyota vehicles, this purchase was a big win during difficult availability and high fuel cost times. If you are considering a hybrid vehicle, the new RAV4 hybrid is a worthy contender, in my opinion.
