Beware of Suzuki

2008 Suzuki XL7 Premium 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 5A)

I did alot of research before purchasing a new car, and intially did not think about a Suzuki, but the dealer had this for a fantastic price with very little mileage. Since it was my first nice car I went for it, and was excited but now 2 years later I couldn't be more disappointed. In the past few month the paint has started to crack, and chip off in big chunks on the roof and hood, but Suzuki will not fix it because it is out of its 36000 mile warranty, even though it is obviously a manufacturer defect. I am very frustrated with Suzuki, and for this problem alone would not recommend buying from them.

Best Features

It is roomy.

Worst Features

Fix what is obviously a manufacturer defect! Also it has bad blind spots.

I had actually found a suzuki forums board that had a few people with the same make, model, color, and paint problem. One of the people on the sight actually had their lawyer draw up a letter and send it to Suzuki, and Suzuki still refused to fix it. I also tried to contact my local news station, but they said that due to the fact that it was technically used when I got it they couldn't help me. I think the only way to get some type of resolve is a class action suit, but that could take forever! I know have a check engine light on, and who knows what problems that will bring to me! Not only do I still owe like 9000 on it, but I also am in no position to trade it in, or get a secondary car! I am screwed and very annoyed by Suzukis lack of care!

I have a 2008 SUZUKI XL7 that is having major paint issues. the PAINT IS PEELING OFF IN SHEETS!!! to the PRIMER from below the roof rail and above the back doors to the rear quarter panel on BOTH SIDES of the car. I notified SUZUKI ...months prior to the END OF THE WARRANTY... They delayed having the SUZUKI REP review the car... until the car was just out of WARRANTY and then said that it wasn't their problem....amazing....WONDER SUZUKI CAN'T STAY IN BUSINESS IN THE STATES..THEY AVOID HONORING THEIR WARRANTY AT ALL COSTS We have had a number of people with the same make model, year and color with EXACT SAME PROBLEM and suggest that you contact SUZUKI and get a case number... they should send out a rep to review the issue. There is no recalls that i can find. have all ready gone through their process...and they are stonewalling regarding this issue ...but at least you are officially have registered the issue with them. The real issue with this problem is that we have gone to 5 different paint shops and they won't just repair the damaged area because something is wrong with the primer / metal compatiblity and they suggest sanding the ENTIRE car down to metal and repaint the entire car much ....more expansive than just painting the damaged area........and some shops won't even work on the car because they don't want the liability if the new paint comes off.... We have identified a number of folks so far with the same problem on the same yr, model and color of this car. [non-permissible content removed] It is going to be very hard for SUZUKI to say it isn't a factory defect..... if a lot of people have the same issue with the same yr, make, model, color . Thanks, Steve
