It may be noisy, but it sure is slow. What a racket this V6 makes and the shifts are unnecessarily abrupt. Full-time 4WD eliminates any possibility of wheelspin.
Who would've guessed disc/drum brakes could stop so short? -- and consistently? Firm-ish pedal and little nose dive, too. By the end of the day, however, the brakes were squealing (glazed drums?)
This is the second Grand Vitara/XL7 I've driven with a "placebo" ESP off button. I was unable to detect any difference and no light to indicate on/off. Regardless, the Grand Vitara displays a surprisingly sporty demeanor with quick and precise steering, lots o' grip and predictable handling. It isn't as "trucky" as I would\'ve guessed in this test.
