2010 Subaru Outback 2.5i 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Has all the positive attributes of an SUV - AWD, roomy, ground clearance, smooth quiet ride - without the MPG penalty or awkward size. I am getting over 25 MPG in mostly in-town driving, so I expect around 30 on a road trip, which is way better than the EPA estimates and most of the competition. This is my second Subie - I put 142K on my first with few issues, so I anticipate great reliability.

Best Features

Fuel economy for a large AWD vehicle. Premium stereo is great (standard is terrible). Paddle shifters for engine braking. Generally high build quality, quiet smooth ride. Not exciting to drive (my last was a WRX) but come on, not the point! Simple, easy to use dash controls.

Worst Features

Rearward visibility is poor, terrible design of cargo area cover, mirrors should fold, fabric is weird. Cost of Subaru installed hitch and XM radio option ABSURD! Go aftermarket for these. Aux input and power supply in armrest make aftermarket XM install easy!
