Used 2010 Subaru Outback Consumer Reviews
Smooth
Researched for months searching for the best value family vehicle. Compared the typical contenders. Subaru dealer asked me to try the Outback? Why not? SOLD! $2,000 more than a Forester gets $10,000 more car. Continuously Variable Transmission is smooth, Interior is higher end, and solid driving feel drives like a luxury automobile! LOVE IT!
Some Minor Complaints
We chose this car because of the rear seat room, which is plentiful. Overall the car is great. It's comfortable and the MPG is great for an AWD vehicle. I also like the rack system. I have had issues with the power steering, it seems loud to me. Some other minor complaints: Door cup holders don't accommodate water bottles (in a car marketed to outdoor enthusiasts), no power seat memory, no rear seat vents, windows vibrate when slightly opened, and the turn signals are not very visible from the side (needs additional side signal and even one in the mirror). Finally, the manual says not to use snow chains, which can be a problem in Oregon if you go to the mountains infrequently!

Lovin'
This is a 2010 Outback. I have had it for two weeks and am loving it. I got it because of its towing ability with good mpg. I like the space that they have increased this model from the 2009 model. Car feels tight and has a good ride. The only thing I would change is that I would have preferred Subaru's diesel.
Has fit the bill
I own a 2005 Legacy GT Limited and was looking for a utilitarian vehicle to tow my vintage motocross bike. Didn't want to test the 4 cyl. but the saleperson convinced me. The rate of acceleration was surprising. Great engine, MPG, power for a 4 banger that gets 26 MPG urban, 30 combined with 900 miles. People say it's big-inside yes but shorter than the Accord I parked next to. Seats are very comfortable, HK stereo sounds great, dash uncluttered, great storage space, Bluetooth works flawlessly. Paddle shifters are actually helpful. Handling is fine-it is a vehicle with a high center of gravity after all. Quiet, smooth riding and comfortable cruiser. CVT is strange at first but works well.
Pleasantly Surprised
We purchased this car because we are seriously considering a move north of Florida. I had an 06 4-Runner we turned in, and although I loved that SUV, I really love this new Suby too. It sits lower than the 4-Runner did, comparable to my husbands Escape, but it handles much better, sportier than the Escape. Takes some getting used to in traffic since I am accustomed to sitting higher off the road. I really wanted the Tribeca to start (for the 3rd row seats), but the extra $10K wasn't realistic - or necessary - because I am more than satisfied with this purchase...highly recommend for a small family who wants a sporty car with plenty of room and plenty of life for an excellent price.
