2003 Subaru Impreza WRX AWD 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Chose the WRX over the GTI VR6 in a
close call. Miss the VR6's amenities,
but the WRX power and awd are
decisive. Accel, braking, cornering,
and shifting are all terrific.
Smoothness is and quietness are better
than I expected; ride is excellent
except on large bumps. No defects so
far except for rattle in short-shift
linkage. Trunk slam is pathetic, but
if Subaru had to cut something to meet
price, that's a good place to cut.

Best Features

Power, AWD, clutch action, cloth seat comfort, short-shift linkage, 6-CD in dash, trunk room.

Worst Features

Window frames, power antenna, auto climate control, better tires (Brigestn RE-950 or Mich Pilot Sport A/S), heated mirrors, wide-ratio 6-spd, quicker steering ratio, GPS, still more power, HID lights.
