2002 Subaru Impreza Wagon WRX AWD 4dr Sport Wagon (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

The car is a joy to drive. The handling
is incomparable to anything else in
it's class, or even on the road
(especially for the dollar). When
driving it hard, though, the gas
mileage isn't much to jump up-and-down
about. Other than that, it's a great
car for the MONEY!

Best Features

AWD, Turbo, 4 cyl.

Worst Features

Needs big improvement on Stereo System (sound volume and quality), more power, maybe a 6-speed

2002 Subaru Impreza Wagon WRX AWD 4dr Sport Wagon (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

I really like this car...though, i'm
pretty biased. It's quick, fun to
drive, handles great...super tight.
The interior is sleek and the 6-Disk
in dash is very nice. If the engine
holds up for another 200,000 miles
i'll have lived a happy life.

Best Features

Speed, handle, bug-eye headlights, momo stearing wheel (never thought i'd have one of those), 6-disk cd changer.

Worst Features

More storage compartments in the back to put tools, gear, etc.

2002 Subaru Impreza Wagon Outback Sport AWD 4dr Wagon (2.5L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I'm at 20,000 miles, handling is more
like hugging the turns and the car
stops on a dime. I mostly enjoy driving
this car on unpaved roads, snow and
during ice storms. Only problem I have
is the manual transmition reverse gear
is a bit clunky. I also had to take in
to reset the computer because I had an
issue starting the car in the morning.

Best Features

Cargo room, AWD, looks good in and out. I'm a pretty tall dude but still have plenty of room.

Worst Features

I want Leather Heated seats, Submarine option so I can go Subin underwater, wings to fly and inflated cusion beds for comfortable sleeping in the back.

2002 Subaru Impreza Wagon WRX AWD 4dr Sport Wagon (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

This car is great fun and the best
sport sedan value on the market. It's
AWD makes it rock in the snow and rain
and it's turbo-boosted engine make it
one of the quickest cars on the market.
It surpasses my BMW 530i for
accelleration (the Bimmer has a higher
and smoother top end) and beats my 4WD
SUV for traction. It has a back seat
for friends and family and is much more
practical then Subaru lets on.

Best Features

Accelleration, traction, cockpit layout. This car lacks some finer appointments but makes up for it in design. It is designed for the driver and is pure driving pleasure.

Worst Features

Options. More plush. Sound system is weak - even premium.

2002 Subaru Impreza Wagon WRX AWD 4dr Sport Wagon (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

My previous car was a Honda that went
for 400K miles. A hard act to follow.
The WRX is a hoot to drive and in wagon
form is very practical as a daily
driver.

The WRX's handling is amazing,
especially with 17" rims and high
performance tires. Driving this car in
the winter gives you a sense of
security and safety.

To gripe about something, the WRX is
very addictive. You get accustomed to
what it does. The WRX is so smooth and
competent, that it starts to feel
slow. Thankfully there is an abundance
of aftermarket performance options.

I can't recommend the WRX highly
enough, unless you are into spending
10K to 15K more for "prestige".

Best Features

Handling. AWD. 5 speed Shifter (very positive and smooth). Ergonomics -- simple and well designed. Seats. Reliability. Bat out Hell speed. Excellent highway manners. Stealthy.

Worst Features

Heated seats as an option. OEM gauge package that includes a factory turbo gauge. HID lights. SUBARU -- make a STI WAGON!! I'd buy one in a second.
