    Best car buying experience of my life... I've purchased over a dozen new vehicles and, while almost none were truly bad experiences, all pale in comparison to this one. Working with Shawn Ware and Randy Dugan was the easiest and most pleasant car buying process I've ever been through. I sent an inquiry via the website and got an immediate response from Shawn. Asked him for a few pictures and he texted them to me quickly. Sent him details about my trade-in vehicle and got a fair trade-in value from him very quickly and without any haggling. Asked for an actual deal sheet and he emailed me one within minutes (if you've never bought a car remotely getting an actual deal sheet sent to you is usually nearly impossible). I've used both Vroom and Carvana in the past and while I would be willing to use Carvana again I'd rather just call Shawn; it was a simpler and more pleasant experience. Once I was ready to do the deal Randy called to go over the specifics on the financials and, for the first time ever in my experience talking to finance managers, didn't try to do the hard sell on the extended warranties. He told me he had a couple of options and asked (yes asked!) if I wanted to know about them. Got him in touch with the loan officer at the credit union I used for the loan and he took it from there. To top it all off they delivered my new truck and picked up my trade-in for free to my home 250 miles away from their dealership. Total time from asking for some pictures to truck sitting in my driveway was less than 24 hours. Next time I'm in the Longview area I'll make a point to stop in and meet Shawn and Randy in person. Great experience all the way around.

    I give 1 star because the sales man was friendly and kind. The service department did an oil change while I was selecting a truck to surprise my husband with. But the sales manager Scott should not be allowed to interact with customers. I came in as a cash purchase customer and wanted to get the discounted price, they advertise online. When Scott came to the table to go over purchase price with myself and the sales man, he said he cannot give me the discount of 2500.00 for financing. I asked him if I put a large down payment and financed just a small portion would I get the discount. His response was to call me a crook and said I was trying to skirt the system. He was very loud and aggressive. He said “I would never do that deal that’s fraud and your a crook.” Then I said I think I need a different person to help me your being very aggressive. He stood up went to the counter walked back over to the table. I am still sitting in my chair next to the sales man. When Scott walked back over he did not sit he stood and leaned over in front of me and continued to tell me that with inventory the way it is he can choose who he will sell to. He told me even if “I don’t like the way someone looks I can choose to not sell them a car.” This is all being said leaning forward in my face from a standing position as I was sitting. I actually put my hands up in front of me as I was nervous he was going to move closer into my space. I said you are being very aggressive right now. He aggressively told me it was to match my aggression. I again asked for a different sales manager. He stormed off. I turned to the sales man and said what was that? He said I have no idea I have never seen him act that way. By this point I look around the room and everyone is staring at me. I am the only woman in the place. The room is one big open area so all the salesman, mangers even service guys were watching this take place. Unfortunately my fear of this man coming back over to me caused me to tear up and I had to leave. I told the sales man sorry but I don’t feel safe and need to leave. He said he understood. I did call back and spoke with Dave and explained the situation that had taken place. He was not there at the time. He was polite and explained that the financing rebate is for smaller down payments and they give that discount to the customers who finance because the finance company pays them. Which I completely understand. I was asking the same question to Scott trying to see what my options were to get the discount. His response was not to explain it was to call me names and instantly became aggressive with a mean hateful look on his face. I ended up going to GMC in bountiful and purchased a truck for my husband. I started my day excited to surprise my husband. I went to the same place I have previously bought trucks from expecting a great experience as I have had in the past. Instead I left feeling confused and abused by Scott. While Dave was very kind and helpful over the phone. After discussing this with my husband we just can’t justify giving our business to a place that employs this person. With much respect for the hard spot the other people in the room were put in.. I do have to say no one stepping in and stopping Scott’s behavior was disappointing. I understand he can hurt the commission a sales man makes if they upset him. But just on a human to human level it was a situation that someone should have stepped in. Thank you again the the service department and Dave. I feel bad the sales man missed out on his commission and I was so stressed I forgot his name or I would credit him for his helpfulness as well.

Unfortunately my fear of this man coming back over to me caused me to tear up and I had to leave. I told the sales man sorry but I don’t feel safe and need to leave. He said he understood. I did call back and spoke with Dave and explained the situation that had taken place. He was not there at the time. He was polite and explained that the financing rebate is for smaller down payments and they give that discount to the customers who finance because the finance company pays them. Which I completely understand. I was asking the same question to Scott trying to see what my options were to get the discount. His response was not to explain it was to call me names and instantly became aggressive with a mean hateful look on his face. I ended up going to GMC in bountiful and purchased a truck for my husband. I started my day excited to surprise my husband. I went to the same place I have previously bought trucks from expecting a great experience as I have had in the past. Instead I left feeling confused and abused by Scott. While Dave was very kind and helpful over the phone. After discussing this with my husband we just can’t justify giving our business to a place that employs this person. With much respect for the hard spot the other people in the room were put in.. I do have to say no one stepping in and stopping Scott’s behavior was disappointing. I understand he can hurt the commission a sales man makes if they upset him. But just on a human to human level it was a situation that someone should have stepped in. Thank you again the the service department and Dave. I feel bad the sales man missed out on his commission and I was so stressed I forgot his name or I would credit him for his helpfulness as well.

    I give 1 star because the sales man was friendly and kind. The service department did an oil change while I was selecting a truck to surprise my husband with. But the sales manager Scott should not be allowed to interact with customers. I came in as a cash purchase customer and wanted to get the discounted price, they advertise online. When Scott came to the table to go over purchase price with myself and the sales man, he said he cannot give me the discount of 2500.00 for financing. I asked him if I put a large down payment and financed just a small portion would I get the discount. His response was to call me a crook and said I was trying to skirt the system. He was very loud and aggressive. He said “I would never do that deal that’s fraud and your a crook.” Then I said I think I need a different person to help me your being very aggressive. He stood up went to the counter walked back over to the table. I am still sitting in my chair next to the sales man. When Scott walked back over he did not sit he stood and leaned over in front of me and continued to tell me that with inventory the way it is he can choose who he will sell to. He told me even if “I don’t like the way someone looks I can choose to not sell them a car.” This is all being said leaning forward in my face from a standing position as I was sitting. I actually put my hands up in front of me as I was nervous he was going to move closer into my space. I said you are being very aggressive right now. He aggressively told me it was to match my aggression. I again asked for a different sales manager. He stormed off. I turned to the sales man and said what was that? He said I have no idea I have never seen him act that way. By this point I look around the room and everyone is staring at me. I am the only woman in the place. The room is one big open area so all the salesman, mangers even service guys were watching this take place. Very underwhelming after 2000 miles

2018 Ram Promaster City Tradesman Cargo 4dr Minivan (2.4L 4cyl 9A)
I was looking for a simple small cargo van and after driving the Promaster City, Ford Transit Connect, and small Nissan van, I chose the Ram. I have to say that after 2000 miles of driving it, I am distinctly not impressed. The transmission seems VERY clunky especially at low speeds. With very light acceleration, at very low speeds, it often seems to almost "sputter" as thought it's … about to stall. For a truck designed for CITY driving, awkward engine performance at LOW speeds is a ridiculous flaw. Motortrend said it has smooth transmission, but I beg to differ. It feels like it shifts 11 times when accelerating from 0 to 45 from a stop. really awkward and jerky. It really NEVER seems like it's in the correct gear, and I am constantly overriding the automatic transmission downshifting as a rule. It has a very rough idle when in gear and stopped. I actually took it back to the dealer in the first week because it seemed broken, but they said that's the way it runs. To me, it shakes worse than my 2003 Subaru Forester, a 16 year old car with issues of its own. Putting it in neutral smooths out the idle but it is still worse than you'd expect in any vehicle in 2018. Cargo space is good and exactly what I need, but it does seem a bit cheaply made. The box seems pretty flimsy when you close any door. Much has been made of the awkward driving position, and I notice it, but it doesn't really bother me. I can adjust to it. Air conditioner works well as does defroster. Haven't really used the heat yet. Rubber gasket on rear door peeled off when pulling something out through the back. I got it back on, but I think that's a bad design. Side doors work well. The little "storage" details are all pretty lousy. But that's no big deal to me. Could EASILY be more ergonomic and usable with really minimal thought and work. The rear brakes are crazy noisy, when it's empty especially. It sounds like they have no pads in the rear and are "scraping" on something rather than slowing the wheels. I thought it might "break in" but did not. If I hadn't had the same issue in the one I test drove, I'd think something was wrong. All in all, the flaws are workable EXCEPT for the transmission/engine performance. It's really annoying and makes the vehicle NO FUN to drive. in 2018, everything should be fun to drive.
