overall this car is really reliable and nice to drive. Some pros about this car is that its small but big enough to pick up some friends with it and stuff like that. I go back and forth to college and it really works great. i have had no big probelms with it. it goes really good through the winter with studded snow tires. also had really great interior. some cons about this car is that the light bulbs on it for some reason go out like every two weeks and i have to keep on replacing them. and the tires lose air a lot and my low traction light keeps coming on, but it does not cause a real big problem. otherwise, its a great car!
Overall style of the car, attracts attention! and the trunk space is pretty good too. i can fit my ten inch subwoofer in there.
the light bulbs. they keep blowing out for some reason. nothing else.
Bought this car in April of 2004.
Really loved it until it began to fall
apart. Wheel speed sensor went out a
week after I bought it--it is a $500
part and not to mention the cost of
taking it to a dealership to get it
fixed. About two months after that,
the crankshaft pulley broke and my
auxillary belt slipped....another big
expense. The power seat motor, along
with the red lighting on the clock
also went out. The brakes were also a
huge problem with this car. In 5
months, I had the pads replaced twice!
I liked it at first because of its
sporty looks, but thank goodness I
traded it in on something more
Steering wheel radio controls
V6 3.4 Liter engine
Build the car better so people won't
have to keep sinking money into this
cheap GM car!
I bought this car and it only had
12,000 miles on it. At 19,000 miles
the automatic transmission went out
and had to be replaced at MY COST
($3,000)! Then the alternater was
replaced (Twice), both window motors
had to be replaced, two front hub
assembiles, the left CV joint twice,
the right CV joint once, and it eats
brakes like crazy (replaced 4 times
just this year). I do not drive my car
hard nor do I neglect it. I loved this
car at first and now it is nothing but
a headache. DO NOT BUY GRAND AM's they
will live you in ruins!
Moonroof, radio controls on steering
wheel and the Ram Air!
Save your money, do not bother with a
Grand Am. I have had numerous
problems with mine, some within the
first year. Original battery cracked
open and acid leaked out (within first
year), blinker went out after a few
minutes of driving each time (1st
year), oil leak, coolant leak,
replaced factory radio, etc. Need I
Also, beware that you'll need
the "ultra high performance" type of
tires, so when you go to replace them
it costs a fortune.
It's fast, though not necessarily
nimble. Stereo sound was good.
That's about it!
Where to start? Make a car that lasts
long-term, like most Toyotas and
