Which 2026 4 trim does Edmunds recommend?

We suggest stepping up to the Long Range Dual Motor model. It has twice the power of the single-motor variant, and the difference should be noticeable to even the most conservative of drivers. Unless handling performance is a priority for you, we suggest skipping the Performance Pack, as it makes the ride quality uncomfortably stiff.

2026 4 trim level differences

The 2026 Polestar 4 straddles the line between a hatchback and crossover SUV, with seating for five passengers. It's offered with two all-electric powertrains, starting with the Long Range Single Motor, which is the rear-wheel-drive model (272 horsepower, 253 lb-ft of torque) that is estimated to return 310 miles of range on a single charge. The Long Range Dual Motor adds a second motor for the front wheels (544 hp, 506 lb-ft), delivering all-wheel drive and an estimated 280 miles of range.

Both models draw power from a 100-kWh battery pack and are equipped with a CCS charge port that can accept DC fast charging. An available adapter allows for charging on the Tesla Supercharger network or any other NACS charger. The charge rate maxes out at 200 kW, which should replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Besides the differences in powertrains, the Single Motor and Dual Motor are almost identically equipped with standard feature highlights that include:

Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
Traffic jam assist (brings the car to a full stop and automatically resumes driving when the traffic ahead starts moving)
360-degree camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Polestar 4 and its surroundings in tight parking situations)
Driver attention warning (issues an alert if sensors determine you are becoming fatigued)
Traffic sign detection (displays recent traffic signs on the instrument panel)
