Clutch Problems
By Stickman on

2006 Nissan Xterra Off-Road 4dr SUV 4WD (4.0L 6cyl 6M)

Love just about everything about the car. Only real issue I've had is that the clutch needed to be replaced at 20,700 miles and then again 37,000 miles later. I've been driving manual transmissions for 47 years and never had a problem with clutches wearing so quickly.

Best Features

The car is fun to drive and the 4WD system works well.

Worst Features

Nissan needs to use a heavier duty clutch to solve the problem they have with premature clutch wear. I also find that the windshield wiper control stock is a little too close to the steering wheel. I often hit it accidentally while turning the wheel.
