great little truck
I have 428000+ miles on this truck other than replacing 5 speed trans its been a great working, fishing, towing, hauling, and daily driven 25mpg vehicle. Wish more vehicles were built this well.
herculon of a little truck
owed since new had 14 miles when my father brought home. The best small pick up ever seen no doubt about it, pulls down low and midway, plenty of torque for passing in fifth gear at highway speeds, has some fenderwell bed rust but its a truck, built to drive not look pretty all day, and has never had valve cover off, only recent waterpump and belts, uses no oil and leaks none, best money ever spent.
BEST TRUCK IN THE WORLD
This is the most reliable truck on the planet. I have owned this vehicle since 1993 and have not turned a bolt on it. In 2007 I replaced the original belts! Of coarse I have put 3 or 4 batteries on it over the years, hey they were not made by Nissan. Its not like a lot of older cars and trucks on the road were the air, heater, Windows, or doors don't work right. Everything on my truck works perfectly and always has! I am sad because I was hit by another car last week and it totaled my truck... My insurance company is going to give me $1001 dollars for it. I would never be able to replace a truck like that. So I had them to release the truck to me. I plan to just try to get it back on the road.
One Tough Truck
I have 148000 miles on my truck and never had to make any repairs to date. Dependable is an understatement. With 100,000 miles on her, I towed a 68 plymouth valiant across country (2000 miles) without any problems. I've pulled numerous people out of ditches in snow storms and this truck keeps hauling. I put her through tough challenges and she ask for more. This is one tough truck. I'm still amazed at what it can do. At 148,000 miles my clutch is starting to show a little ware. Its about time. I honestly never have had to do any repairs, only maintenance. It's the best truck ever. I think I'll have her for a long time to come.
Reliable Truck
I have had no trouble since I purchased this truck in 1992. It has been completely reliable. It gets great gas mileage, and has been a great vehicle.
Pretty Good
Overall I am very happy with the reliability and performance. It has been over 10 years, and I have not had any major problems. I merely change the oil, fluids and filters when scheduled. I get 28 miles per gallon even now.
Great Truck
This is by far the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I purchased the truck new in 1992 and I'm still driving it almost every day. It is now 15 years old and has 252,000 miles on it. Most important is that, except for the paint, it is in original condition. By that I mean that there has been no engine or other drive train work done on it. It still has the original upholstery (no worn out spots in it), muffler, air conditioner and even shocks. Maintenance has been limited to consumables like oil, filters, hoses, brake pads, etc.
Nissan Hardbody
The Nissan (1993) Hardbody ext. cab which I actually purchased in June of 1992 is got to be the most long lasting and reliable small trucks ever built. To this date (Nov.03)their has not been a wrench pointed at this truck in other than scheduled Maintinece! Did I mention the miliage? 200,000 miles!!! Enough Said.
Great small truck
This truck has been so reliable that I am hesitating to sell it at ten years old (I am second owner) and after reading the reviews of 2000 Chevy Silverado that I am considering trading for! It may very well out live it! However, I am looking for more towing power, a bigger bed, and just a newer vehicle (north country has been rough on the body with salt). This truck has ALWAYS started, even at thirty below, NEVER gotten stuck (with studded snows), and carried as much load of lumber, firewood, tools, and dirt that I could ever fill it with.
Very Reliable
Original owner of truck with 180,000 miles on it. Replaced water pump, starter and radiator well after 100,000 miles. Fuel economy, 22/24, has stayed the same from the day I bought it. Still runs like new, great truck.
couldn't have a better little truck
I bought my truck about a week ago. I used to have a 1989 and i loved it. I put more than 300,000 mile on that truck.(with no major overhaules) I can't wait to put that many on my new truck
Great Truck-Treated me well
The biggest issue with this truck was a timing chain tensioner, which they had a service bulletin for, and isn't that hard to replace. Otherwise, the truck has performed GREAT!
Great little truck!
I've had this truck for the last 9 years and it is the most reliable and maintenance free vehicle that I've ever owned. The only feature that I can truly complain about is the hard to get at release for the spare tire. Additionally, the gas mileage is OK at about 20/22 MPG.
Best vehicle I ever have owned
I have owned over 12 vehicles, Ford, GM, Dodge, Honda and a newer Nissan. However this 93 truck is the most reliable one of the bunch. It has been in 3 accidents, driven over 170K miles and I have put in under $1,000 in overall maintenance costs to include oil & tires. I would buy one if looking for solid transportation.
93 Nissan Pickup 4x4
My Nissan D21 4WD 5spd is by the far the most reliable vehicle ive had. i bought it with 67000 miles in Sept, 08. I go off roading with it all the time, and it loves the mud, i have 30x9.5x15 Mud Kings on it. The truck now has 78000 miles and it runs strong. Ive replaced the timing chain, timing tensioner, timing gears, and guides, all the seals, starter, distributor cap, brake lines, pads, drums, fuel lines, fuel pump, and exhaust. With all of that and with purchasing the truck i have only spent about 1200 on the truck. I have all original receipts, and i'm the third owner. The engines run mint, its silent. tranny and clutch are great. wont hesitate to chirp third gear!
Great little truck
I bought my 2 wheel drive sb in 1993 and have had no breakdowns. I have 79000 miles but am going to sell because I need a 4 wheel drive in the snow.
best truck in the world
i'v had to do nothing to the truck for over three years. nice ride, very dependable, cannot overstate that.
Impressive little truck
Since I have purchased this vehicle I have been delightfully impressed on how easy it is to work. It was in really poor condition when I got it from an auction sale, but I have put over $600 into the vehicle doing most of the work myself. It is a very easy vehicle to work on. There is a pesky oil leak that I am trying to track down, it sputters on acceleration which swapping out the injectors should fix that problem. I was suprised to find that after a recharge of the AC system that it works just fine. Otherwise it's fun to drive.
My Amazing Nissan Truck!
My Mom actually bought me my Nissan brand new {$13,000] after an idiot totaled my Toyota pu ... we went bare bones on accessories so my mechanic installed a little fan this year so my husky and I have cool air in the summers as she rides shotgun. The interior upholstery and all of the cosmetics are pretty bad now but I still drive her and get lots of comments from men who just run up and say "don't you just love that truck?!" I do! ... I am a landscaper and she has hauled hundreds of plants and bricks and you name it for me. I have an excellent mechanic who has taken care of her since she was brand new! I would give anything is she will last as long as I do. we'll see! Bravo to the person who invented this truck. She is a real gem. we are in the waaaayyyyy belows on Montana right now and she starts up!!
