2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V SE-R Spec V 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Review

First, this car was quite inexpensive. A great value, but lacking in some areas. I don't think it compares to luxury sport vehicles, but it finds its way to the top of the pack for vehicles under $17k. The 2.5L motor is so torquey you can pull with most v6's off the line (however it's not so tough on the highway). Handling is for tuned for driving fanatics, with excellent response and minimal roll, but the 17 in. wheels and hardened bushings relay every bump on longer drives. Adequate interior - love the seats, but the plastics scratch up quite easily. Exterior was "updated" for '04 to match the base model... Now there's no escaping the ugly "bucktooth"!

Best Features

Six speed, decent stock stereo, 175hp, razor sharp handling, CVTCS, secondary intake runners, limited slip differential, sporty seats, aftermarket support starting to show up, and Nissan resolved some issues for '04 that really make this car a lot more reliable!

Worst Features

Paint quality is low. Road noise is high, but I understand that it's a downside of the 17in. wheels. Interior quality. Front end styling - would be perfect if it looked like the Aussie Nissan Pulsar! $100 aftermarket short shift adapter I bought should come stock - really cleans up the shifting!

Review

So Far the only probs in having is finding aftermarket parts that really fit. got a b&m shifter and had to make some mods to get it to fit. Also got a piggy back computer from Stillen and could not get it to work right, but they helped me with everything and gave me a refund for the chip. the car has alot of power to spare. if you like to play on the streets then this car is for you.

Best Features

The car handles like a dream!!!! Nissan did a good job on that. I like the 6 speed, lots of fun. And well everything but the exterior styling.

Worst Features

Change the way the car looks, the 02's looked a lot better. they need to make the Se-R Spec-V stand out other than just putting on badges and different head lights and tail lights. The whole car needs an exterior restyling

Review

I've been driving my Sentra SpecV for
close to 6 months now, after
researching at Edmunds, I was surprised
some of the things that Edmunds/dealers
don't mention:

1. The SpecV comes standard with 22lb
17" rims, very heavy rims with equally
heavy tires that you cannot put snow
chains on, due to their size in the
wheel well. On top of that, the
Contisport tires are LOUSY in wet
weather.

2. You will not be able to put mud
guards on your car-the dealers
mentioned that Nissan was making them-
that was a lie. The side/wheel molding
does not allow mud guards to be
installed behind the front tires-so
mud/gr gets all over the doors.
Inexcuseable.

Best Features

Strong engine, comfortable seats

Worst Features

Stronger paint. 6spd feels like a stick in a bag of rocks, sometimes reverse and 6th get locked out, adjustable suspension would be nice. 16" wheels instead of fad-driven 17" Noisy-reminds you you are driving an economy car.

Review

Its a blast to drive i upgraded to the
brembo brakes and will stop on a dime.
The car handles great but is still a
compact car which is good for me Im
consistantly on the road I travel to
several cities around the area but the
car can be a lil bouncy on the
interstate but i dont mind it too much
cause the fun factor makes up for it

Best Features

Its a sporty but still fits in anywhere

Worst Features

It could use a lil more difference between the SER or the other sentra models

Review

My wife owns this, and it's a treat to drive. Lots of
power, good size and a useful trunk.

Had some trouble with the transmission, which
Nissan fixed FOC, but it shouldn't have happened.
I'd buy it again though

Best Features

No question - the accelerator and 6 speed stick. Stereo is outstanding too.

Worst Features

A little more style outside, better feul economy maybe.
