2004 Nissan Quest 3.5 SL 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I have had this vehicle for 2 1/2 years. Pros, Good handling, power, average 19 mpg, lots of room, exterior styling. Cons, The paint scratches and chips easily, slightly high road noise on than Highway, Relaibilty/quality is bad. Interior trim pieces come unsnaped often, Ac has been repaired 5 times. The clock is always fast. Computer is quirky, doors need to be realigned or adjusted frequently. Its had at least 6 recalls, doors rattle, strang vibration noises. etc. Service rep stated," we have had issues with these vehicles" Its at the dealership being repaired often. Nissan does little when you call in concerns?

Best Features

Styling, rear seating, fuel economy

Worst Features

Make it reliable. Fit and finish needs work. Sinny rims, Middle rows seats that fold completely flat. Less briddle paint. Sl model comes with a complete roof rack, I never understood what the use of 1/2 of a roof rack would be good for.

2004 Nissan Quest 3.5 SL 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

The Quest was the most unique minivan when we purchased it. In retrospect, we should have gone with a Honda or Toyota. We have had problems that one would not equate with Nissan. The end-links on the rear stabilizer somehow self-destructed, the horn fuse continually blows, the original brakes only lasted 27,000 miles. The rear brakes were shot after this period! I've never experienced this in ANY vehicle I have owned of any make! Radio is flakey and just goes mute on its own at times. Transmission has gotten stuck in one gear and required me to stop the car, shut it off and restart it. I planned on keeping this vehicle for a long time but now I'm not so sure.

Best Features

Unique exterior styling. Powerful 3.5l v6 engine.

Worst Features

Perhaps the newer model has been debugged.

2004 Nissan Quest 3.5 SL 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

Best looking minivan out there, but rattles like a 6 yr old Chevy van. Engine is racy, but interior is not family friendly. Whoever chose light dove grey for an interior color doesn't have kids! Front end shakes and will need realignment often - factory defect, but dealer won't fix. Plastic and hard to clean interior, rattles all over place-think twice before buying! Looks better than all others, but not practical!

Best Features

Engine Pep, Exterior looks.

Worst Features

Better interior color schemes, no spare in middle of cabin compartment, more solidly built, less cheap plastic, easier to read gauges, less crowded control center with larger words on buttons, doors that don't rattle, front suspension redesign.

2004 Nissan Quest 3.5 SL 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

Review

We have owned the Quest for a year and a half and in that time have had it back to the dealership for repairs/warranties/recalls/service about 15 times. Within the first month of owning the Quest, I noticed rattling noises, wind coming from the rear doors, and other "small things" that seemed much worse becasue they only added to the overall total of complaints I began to have. Couple this with the passenger side mirror needing to be replaced, rear defogger unit replaced, doors adjusted, sensors tweeked, and the kicker, the alternator and battery dying in the middle of January in Minnesota away from home, and you can see why I must say this is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned.

Best Features

I love the power, it really is a fun vehicle to drive (when it is not being serviced). I also love all of the whistles and bells. The automatic doors and tailgate is a lifesaver with 3 kids under the age of 5. It is roomy and with the luggage rack, it is unbelievable how much I can fit into this van

Worst Features

Reposition the instrument panel. Front captains chair armrests need to be revamped, they seem to be pointed downward rather than in a position that is supportive. Have a control switch in the front for the rear lights as kids tend to leave them on or play with them. Improve overall acoustics.

Review

Previously owned a Dodge Caravan Sport which had no problems throughout 80k miles. Loved styling of Quest, bought 09/04. Travel freqently and very comfortable on long trips. Dealer service dept. has been great however we have been there to many times. Numerous recalls/service bulletins. transmission not smooth in low gear. All 4 rotors turned twice then finally replaced under warranty. Interior fit and finish not great. Only 35k out of goodyear eagles. Squeaks, wind noise, rattles very bothersome. power window mechanism replaced already. rear hatch pistons replaced already. Exhaust system was rattling upon start up. Wheel studs sheered off almost lost rear wheel on highway.

Best Features

Service department has been wonderful! love the styling and performance.

Worst Features

Better quality products-Brakes, tires, interior materials, hardware, etc...
