2003 Nissan Pathfinder SUV SE 4WD 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Terrible gas mileage - runs better and more efficiently on high test (uggh!); terrible in snow with or without 4WD engaged; little cargo room in back; seat areas are cramped - particularly in cockpit; still nicer appearance, fit & finish than '06 model; great overall build, but will never purchase another - price tag and costs of ownership (gas, insurance) just aren't worth it - - I can drive a GM or FORD for less (and better MPG) and still be quite pleased
Bose Sound System; VCR Entertainment System; quick acceleration
2003 Nissan Pathfinder SUV LE Rwd 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Wow. That's all I can say. I just purchased this truck, used, from a private seller and I have been in love ever since. The interior is plush, but not gaudy; it is simple, easy on the eyes and consistent with the truck's exterior look. Leather seats are very comfortable. The exterior possesses all the characterisitcs commonly sought after by the superficial man -- it looks very cool. But the best part about the truck, and the reason why I would buy it again even if it didn't have all this other stuff, is that it is so much fun to drive. It feels like you are coasting on air; the engine is strong and quick. It accelerates quickly and brakes the same. It is a blast.
The engine/acceleration -- this thing hauls some serious business. Having the radio controls on the steering wheel is very convenient. Leather seats.
Gas mileage could be better; or gas prices could be cheaper. I'm not sure who's to blame.

This is a solid vehicle, that looks better, performs better, and holds more stuff than many of its peers. I looked at nearly a dozen comparable SUVs and felt that this was the best across the board value, and I still feel that way 2+ years later. I owned a Mustang GT but needed an SUV, wanted a Pathfinder but couldn't afford it, bought the wrong one and finally got a Pathfinder 2 years later. It was worth the wait. Acceleration, braking and handling are all very good. The styling, especially in the interior is pleasing to your eyes without being dominant and eye- distracting. There are enough cubbies and cupholders to meet your needs, and the seats are quite comfortable. Really good vehicle.
For a 6 cylinder, heavy vehicle, this things hauls you-know-what. The stereo, aside from the skipping CD player, is terrific. Interior and exterior styling are great, just cool to look at. For a guy who surrendered his Mustang GT for a family vehicle & stuff hauler, this is as good as it gets.
Some of your sight lines are compromised by the big B pillars, the interior insulation over the rear tires could be better - you get a bit of noise in the cabin on a wet road, the 6- CD player is somewhat fussy and skips on cold days (and some warm ones). Gas mileage is on par for the genre.
