A second life... still like new

I bought this pathfinder in 2009 with 183,000 miles on it. It cost $3500.00. Over the past seven years I have replaced most of the normal "consumables" that go out on these like, struts, tires, shocks, brakes, belts, front CV joints and oil. Last month I had to put in a $200 dollar brake booster and haven'e had any "problems" that left me stranded.. My ignition switch wore out at 220,000... You know, the normal things that last 100,000 miles and are usually scheduled for replacement before that. I did the oil changes as I wanted and I'm still driving it with 289,500. The passenger side window switch won't roll up the window. It will roll down and that's the only thing that doesn't work! This is a great car and reading reviews, Nissan should have left it alone for a few more years! It leaks and burns a little oil, but I plan to replace the timing belt, the front seal and valve cover gaskets soon. What can I complain about at a quarter million miles? Gas mileage....?

Good, solid vehicle

Some of the reviewers really amaze me. Do people really feel maintenance items are a reflection of a car's quality? Having to replace tires, brakes, shocks, etc. These are not reliability issues. These are regular maintenance items for ALL vehicles. My PF now has 110K miles. I've had to replace a bad Speed Sensor, and worn suspension bushings. The vehicle starts up without hesitation every day, runs great, and will get me wherever I need to be. I've had many other vehicles that start falling apart at 50K with major mechanical issues. If these cars require some maintenance, its because they run an awfully long time. I'd rather have the burden of maint. than another car junked.

Great Vehicle, Dealer Lacking

Vehicle is great even though I don't need an SUV. 50,000 miles on only oil changes and a wheel alignment. The dealer, Country Line Nissan, did rip us off on a CD Changer, which we paid for but never received. What we did receive was hollow promises and shuffling back and forth between sales and service. I gave up; they won.

I bought my Pathfinder for $1,200 last year with a little over 200,000 KMs on it. Since then I've gotten it a fresh safety, new ball joints, inner and outer CV boots, transmission flush, new control arms, new gas tank and filler neck (last owner never washed the damn thing and my tank rusted out) new battery and other regular upkeeps like oil changes ect. Now all she needs is front end axles and struts and it'll be like new. I got over 245,000 KMs on it now and still drives mint. Lots of power when I pass on the highway, great handling. No complaints other then I wish it had another gear!!! Revs high and sucks all my gas if I go over 110km lol. But overall awesome and I love it :)

Reliable ride for 3 years

Bought this Nissan with 99.000 km (Canada), sold it 3 years later with 143.000 km. No issues whatsoever, absolutely reliable, rattle free, firm ride, no squeaks. Started every time in any temperature without any hesitation. Only dislike I had was underpowered engine and Pathfinder's feature of not locking the torque converter until the engine is hot. When you get on the hwy with cold engine, it seems like the 4th gear won't shift in. I actually thought first that it's a bad tranny :-) Other than that, awesome vehicle. Oh - gas milage is poor - got 15 mpg in city, maybe 16 on hwy, light foot. My 04 4Runner has better milage and more power, but not as smooth ride like Pathfinder
