1993 Nissan NX 2000 2dr Coupe
That's how much I like(d) these cars. One burned up, one was stolen and trashed, and the third is my 30 year old project car, teaching my son to drive stick and have fun in a lightweight, quick and nimble car. Being thirty years old, these cars are getting quite hard to find, and hard to find parts. I could get antique plates now. I've been very hard on them, racing and modifying, but … the engines are rock solid reliable. The five speed had "5th gear popout" issues -- I rebuilt my transmission with the updated service file gear back in the day. Other than that, it's a solid car. The NX2000 came with the larger front brakes, a superb suspension, a sweet 2.0 liter engine that is more than happy to pull all the way to redline (and in fact you should do that regularly for engine health!).
Take the t-tops off, turn off the radio, and enjoy some twisty back roads on a sunny day.
It's too bad they don't make cars like this any more.
