Where did they go?!!! D-1 and D-2
I recently bought a used 2018 Murano. I brought it home only to realize something I had noticed about it was catching my eye,... Why doesn't the transmission (the shifter in the console) have the standard "D1" and "D2" under the "P" (for parking?
Beautiful automobile, with one bad flaw...
Do I really have to own one to write a review? I don't, but I DO have something to say. Yes, I have noticed a few of these around, and I AM attracted to these cars. They are uniquely good looking. They have the individualistic looks that I like (I used to own early Saabs). one of my neighbors has a white one, which looks good with the black trim - very nice graphics. And I like the fact that it is a 5-door, i.e. what we used to call a wagon, with the practicality of a wagon. The problem is... I like to drive, and for me, fully 1/2 of all the pleasure that comes from driving is derived from... shifting for myself. I HATE automatics, the way a skilled photographer, who gets satisfaction from being able to squeeze excellence from his fully manual camera must hate point and shoots. Yes, that modern camera takes good photographs most of the time, but where is the satisfaction in just aiming the camera and pushing a button? Likewise for automobiles. I HATE the fact that automobiles have been dumbed down so far that it requires no effort or skill whatsoever (practically) to drive one! I get bored driving an automatic in less than a minute! I LOVE the sense of being a PART of the machine, not just a passenger! I LOVE controlling the gears AND the engine, to propel my machine smartly down the road! Denying me a well-engineered manual transmissions denies me fully 1/2 of all the joy of driving! I have been looking forward to this moment, i.e. that I can afford to buy what I really want, only to have the industry stop making it! In the name of making cars easier for lazy, unskilled people to drive... So, therefore, although I do in fact like the appearence and function of this Murano very much, and despite the fact that I have reached a stage in my life when I can afford virtually any car I like, I will NOT be buying one. I will stay with the older cars that STILL offer me a REAL driving experience.

bought a 2020 with the features I needed. very h.
I like the Murano but there are a some features missing that I regret, especially the motorized tilt and telescope feature on the steering wheel. This is a big lose to an older customer. I can easily adjust with the manuel lever but the missing component is the memory that retracted and titled up so that I could leave and enter the driver seat unimpeded. I traded in an 8 year old Murano that was reliable and never had a problem...probably should have kept it! UPDATE: bought a newer model, exactly like last one but with added features I wanted.
