Vehicle1995 Nissan Maxima SE 4dr Sedan
ReviewI purchased this 1995 Maxima SE last
month. Coming from a 1988 ford tempo,
the 3.0 V6 engine with it's impressive
190 horses was especially pleasing.
I've gotten to 100 mph at 5600 RPMs in
3rd gear. There is no question, this
is the best V6 in any family car model
of 1995. The only downside I've had so
far is the almost uncontainable urge to
give the tremendously responsive V6
more than a tiny hint of pressure on
the gas pedal and take off like a
fighter jet in the middle of a busy
street. Excellent features, attractive
rear spoiler. Suspension is annoyingly
stiff on bumpy straightaways, but it
pleasingly effective on turns.
Best FeaturesSnappy powerful 3.0 V6, decent bose system, keyless entry, trunk, alarm, power features, moonroof, sheer good looks, extreme reliability, the jealousy of everyone I know, including my parents, high resale value, rumors from maxima owners that it will last beyond 250,000 miles.
Worst FeaturesOverly stiff suspension. No cupholder, no passenger side power locks, keyless features are primitive and slow. Starts out frustratingly slow and transitions into a furious beast in 2nd gear. Far more expensive than american model cars of similar design, but you get what you pay for.
