I looked at Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, Ford Ranger, before buying the Nissan Frontier Midnight Edition. All of the midsize trucks I looked at had useless bells and whistles (that added to the overall price of the truck) except the Nissan Frontier. It's a TRUCK. It drives like a truck, rides like a truck, has the power of a truck. It does have a few nice things tech wise, but just enough and nothing useless.

The Frontier is packed with features and has the looks to match. Compares very favorably to the new GMC Canyon Denali and is much higher build quality than my 2018 Tacoma SR5 which I gave to my son. Doors sound solid when shutting and I love the acceleration of the V6. The transmission doesn't seem confused like on the Tacoma. So far, on my highway commute I'm getting 25.4 mpg. Not too shabby!

I was looking at a 2023 Tacoma, Drove it, priced it and was about to sign when I saw one of these in the dealer lot next store. Went over, looked at it, drove it and priced it. Was still a little unsure. Went home read the reviews, watched a ton of YouTube videos on it (both positive and negative) and realized all the hate on this truck is mainly because people buy this truck expecting it to be something else. Do your research before you buy people! If you want a comfortable, quiet, well performing mid size truck that drives and acts like a truck at a decent price, then this is the one for you. “The steering is heavy” “the buttons are in weird spots” “the interior doesn’t look too modern”. Why do you need a truck then? This had more features than the Tacoma for quite a bit less money. Bought it, been driving it, love it. The fender audio system is awesome, it tows my boat and trailer without issue but most importantly it acts and feels like a real truck, not something trying to be one. Also the NA engine will last longer than any turbo charged engine all the competitors are using. All round fantastic truck that does truck things.

Just traded a 2019 Tacoma for a new Frontier Pro 4X. I switched to Toyota from three Nissan's in a row mostly because I liked the looks. Was very unhappy with Toyota's performance, mileage, and the fact it left me stranded in the heat three times in a row (vapor lock due to a poorly designed fuel pump). Also the ride and shifting were always choppy. The new Frontier is largely a Toyota clone in the exterior looks department. Peformance-wise, it's miles ahead in ride and power. The back seat still isn't useful for much more than kids and groceries, and I'm still learning to navigate the tech features, but I haven't found a bell or whistle missing. If you're looking for a mid-sized pickup, drive this one last, you're going to be at the dealership until they hand you the keys.

If you like old school simplicity and good old fashioned solid construction this is your truck. No turbos, just a reliable naturally aspirated 6 cylinder power plant. Lots of metal parts where the competition uses plastics. Comfortable and solid ride. Reasonable pricing. Good looks. This is an uncomplicated truck that I am sure you will love.
