2006 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab LE 4dr Crew Cab SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Just love this vehicle, added a wood grain kit in the interior to take your eye off the plastic, looks great. Very responsive 4.0 litre engine, not bad on gas for a V6.

Best Features

Power, sports car feel, smooth transmission. Heated seats. Sunroof, exterior looks. Lots of interior room.

Worst Features

DVD player.

2006 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab SE 4dr Crew Cab 4WD SB (4.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

At 38K miles it looks and drives as it did the day I drove out of the dealership's parking lot. Added fog lamps. Wish I could get the NISMO crew cab with the 6-speed. I own the SE because they don't sell it that way. Nothing's needed repair, ever. I just use 91 octane gas and it does anything I ask. That engine is amazing, and the trans is silky smooth.

Best Features

Performance!

Worst Features

Make a NISMO crew cab with a stick.

Review

Just bought the truck. Used a friends Tacoma a few times and decided that I needed a truck. Going from a Subaru Impreza WRX to a truck was going to be difficult to compare performance wise, but comfort, features and design have impresed me very much so. My wife had an 03 Xterra and I thought it was terrible, but this new vintage of truck feels and drives great. Comparing the ride and features and looks, the frontier definatly has it over the Tacoma. Quite frankly I think the Tacoma looks very boring, inside and out.

Best Features

Rockford fosgate sound system and Sirius and iPod interface. Large back seats and storage. Love the dash gauges and trip computer.

Worst Features

Heated seats without having to have the leather package.

2006 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Nismo 4dr Crew Cab 4WD SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

The Nissan v6 is head and shoulders above the Dakota 4.7 v8. I tow a 20' boat and the Nissan pulls it with ease! Nismo ride is actually softer than the Dakota. Fuel mileage is about the same. So far..so good!!

Best Features

Towing

Worst Features

Try to squeeze a couple MPG out of the engine.

Review

Clutch burned out before 12,000 miles, mechanic would not talk to me directly about the issue, in shop 3 times for over 30 days and still not resolved.. no loaner while in shop, clutch not working under 32 degreesF, hard to see out when backing up, small mirrors with no factory extensions nor aftermarket accessories for towing, no low rpm torque for trailer towing even at 1/2 of advertised towing ability. Very disappointed after 4 previous Nissan's. Am 7,000 upside down after one year and truck back in shop for estimated 2 weeks of repairs! Rental CAR costs me $50 a day in the mean time. Is putting me out of business and NMAC is happy to be closed in evenings... be wary!

Best Features

21 mpg highway

Worst Features

visibility, larger mirrors, more low end torque, no more manual tranny for ME with no torque.. impossible even without trailer to take off without emergency brake and possibly spilling my drink. No cruise is very irritating. For $23,000... not much truck. Regret purchase
