Poor/defective pearl white paint job

2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl CVT)


Purchased 2013 Altima in Pearl white, the day after I discovered a paint defect that was evident in low light and shade. Defect listed as
mottling, shadowing or zebra/tiger striping. I was able to return the vehicle to dealer a month later after a bit of drama (too much to fit in this review) due to clerical errors that prevented the financing from going through and saved me the time of a Lemon Law case.
Tried Nissan by creating a case but was stalled by rep that kept needing additional time for “review”.
Defect was evident in showroom of another dealer for a car assembled in Smyrna,TN. Other issues consistent with reviews for heated seats, trany and steering noise.
Maybe time for Accord

Best Features

I liked the Tech features although complicated and the overall looks/styling already have the Accord dated.

Worst Features

Nissan: Get back to the basics of quality control, a new car should not be put out for sale with a paint job that is defective, just stop and look at your work should be preached to your paint department and other aspects of the manufacturing chain. Clearly an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure applies here. A more responsive and timely resolution from Nissan regional representatives would have been appropriate in my case and would mitigate conflict between your dealers and and their/your customers in the future.

I also just purchase a pearl white 2013 Nissan Altima, wish i had read the reviews. Very disappointed. I am also having the same problem with the tiger stripping on the doors. All the salesman and serice department has seen the tiger stripping on the doors's but the rep. from Nissan says he cannot see the stripping. My car has been at the dealership for over 2 weeks for them to still try to figure it out. I also have gone to other local Nissan Dealerships and look at all the pearl white cars on the lot and there's more of them on the lots with tiger stripping on them and also told Nissan of cars. Looks Nissan has a major Production Problem

WOW !!! I am glad I read all the cust. reviews and the find out the problems with this newly redesigned Altima. The previous years' model seemed more reliable. Always there are bugs with newer designs. I'm glad to check reviews first !! You just talked to me out of test driving this car ( was planning this for today). Edmunds.com are giving an extra coupon for $750 if you buy or lease one, in addition to other Nissan offers . I don't think to dare and to get involved with a problem car..( Edmunds test drive and comments tempted me initially ). If Nissan don't stand behind their products and resolve custmers' complaints they sure to lose much more business.
