My 240 SX
I love my new 240sx it is got a lot of power and it handles well. i plan on fixing it up, maybe turning it into a drift car. If not then i will just street it up.
Excellent
I am very happy with my car. The design is beatiful very sporty look yet good to drive 4 people. After 10 years I have found that the paint is still in very good shape. As for mechanical services it has not requered anything mayor other than oil change and new shocks and tires. The 240 is good on gas miles and smooth drive. For all those reasons, I woul buy another 240 if the same model were build next year.My car exterior is in very good shape.
Great potential
This car was 100% reliable for me, there was a common quirk about the timing chain guides rattling around but you simply just remove it and problem is solved. The car was roomier than expected for a sport coupe (I am 6'4" ) though i would hit my head on the roof if i hit a big enough bump in the road. The four link rear suspension design makes for a great driving experience. The 2.4 liter KA24DE is a nice reliable engine with a smooth powerband but lacks a little high rpm power. With a header, full exhaust, venturi and intake system the car engine felt more balanced but theres not a whole lot of potential in this engine N/A fyi.95-97 models are termed "zenki" the 97-98 models are "kouki"
1995 nissan 240sx se
I've had my 95 nissan 240sx about 2 years now. and its easly my favorit car ive had. i got the car with 190k miles on it. and now has 260k miles on it. and still runs like a champ. ive never had to replace anything on the motor or tranny. which is saying alot since im 22 and drive it like a crazy person most the time lmao. car is soo much fun to drive and even at higher speeds its very controlled and feels great. love the gear box smooth and nicely centered. engine bay has a nice set up very easy to do tune ups. im geting about 30mpg in town and 35 on highway. with my mods.before the mods i was geting about 27 in town and 30 on the highway. taking it easy ont he car.
In all a great little car
Wanted to wait until I had some mileage on the car to write a review and here is what I've come up with. Bought the car December of 2009 with 80,000 miles on it and all I had to do was clean it up after it sat for 6-8 months. Since buying it I've had some Minot things go wrong such as: the stock headers blew a weld so I had to put on aftermarket headers that actually came with the car and now since the car sits so low I've ripped up the wiring harness for the exhaust sensors on the bottom. Other than that though the car has been a complete pleasure to drive and extremely reliable and smooth shifting. I will say that they should have put some actual cup holders in it. Besides that. Great.

Original Owner
I bought my car new 141,000 miles and 14 years ago. The only thing I ever did to it was replace tires, add oil and gas and drive! It never even needed a tune up and got 27 mpg ave above the 22 mpg rating! I drive it everyday in Colorado weather mountain and highway and love driving it. It's been the most amazing vehicle I have ever owned and runs like the day I bought it.
Nisaan Rocks!!!
Trouble free auto. Ergonomic seats are sooooo comfortable, corners like I'm one with the car. Best, most reliable car I've ever owned. Can't wait for my 350Z to arrive!
Best decision ever
I bought my car in December and waited until now to review it as just a couple hundred miles doesn't cut it and WOW. I've heard stories of how great these cars are but once you drive one you will never want to give it up. My girlfriend liked mine so much she got one herself though we have to get rid of her's because now we need a larger vehicle. Engine sounds great with headers and exhaust on it and for 15 years old now the car still looks as good as any other brand new car on the road. I receive compliments all the time and have even gotten pulled over so that the cop could look at it. That's what I call awesome. Bring them back Nissan!
Fun to drive
I had this car for about 8 years now, no major problem except 1.5 years ago the head gasket was blown. I rated 9 for build quality because the window rubber seals on front and back wind shields deteriorated. The weird/rough shifting feel from 1st to 2nd gear (yes it's an auto). Some electrical problems such as front speakers didn't work, CD player laser lens gave out. It didn't really bother me much since I use tape deck for the mp3 player. Overall, this car needs a bit more power.
Amazing car
bought the car a little under a year ago and man has it been awesome. It came with a rock hard suspension on it so it can take an off ramp at about 60 before the tires even squeal. The motor has great torque through many rpm ranges and I even managed to get 29 mpg doing 75 mph on a cross country trip home. the inside is freakishly quiet when going high speeds and always goes in any direction you point it when pavement is involved. probably the closest thing to a perfect car I've driven so far.
Awesome Car to drive
To start with, the car body style is awesome. I was so disappointed that Nissan stopped making them. Car has plenty of engine room for upgrades. Car drove great when I test drove it and bought on the spot.
Nissan 240 SX is #1!! :-)
The smooth exterior design caught my eye, and it also handles like a dream. My Nissan never gave me any problems up to this very day. My previous vehicle (an '87 Dodge caravan) was too bulky and whenever I made a turn I couldn't help but feel like I was in a leaning tower. But the nissan was a wonderful change for me. I haven't had the need to shop around for another car since.
Bullet Proof! 240SX SE
I was looking for a rear wheel drive coupe that was economical, precise, and of high quality. I looked at the BMW 3 series coupe and then test drove the 240sx SE. The car perfect in everyway! No blind spots, precise high performance handling and excellent quality. I've owned this car since new and now have around 90,000 miles with nothing more than oil changes, brake pads, and a set of new Kumho tires(they are awsome!) I liked it so much I bought a second one for my girl friend.
GOOOOOO NISSAN!!
I love my nissan, I have never had a problem with it other than normal wear and tear for the year! It is a great car and very reliable and mine actually gets 29 mpg!!!!
240sx.
love it, Good handiling car with alot of giddiup.
My Review
There are many mods. available for this vehicle that make it even moe fun to drive. These cars are vey easy to "pimp out" with little money. Last night I beat 2 Vipers and a Supra off the line and in the long run (4 miles). With a nitous kit this car is capable of apox.180 mph!
240sx
160,000 miles and still ticking! never owned a more reliable car.
The Best Car!!!!(*_*)
ooh my what can I say I have owned this car now for almost four years and Its the best, The body design is really what attracted me to it!!interior design I found everything to be in the right place for the driver, it handles great never had a problem with the car, regular problems thats expected like brakes. but no major problem at all. fast car and with the five speed manual what else could you ask for. I think that nissan should bring back the 240sx next year since they now have brought back the 300zx.
SWEET RIDE!!!!
This car has plenty of everything a driving enthusiast is looking for! Personally, I want more horsepower. But, then again... I don't think I'd be satisfied with 400HP. This is an awesome car.. especially for the $$$. Many problem free miles have been clocked on my machine. Nothing more than normal wear-part replacement from a spirited driver. This is a car well worth putting your money into. Plenty of mods available. I'm planning on a SR20DET engine swap for more HP :)
obtained mine for free
I was given my 1995 240SX three years ago for free from a good friend. Was getting 31 mpg now about 29 with 188,000 mile and still going strong I must admit it's the best car I have ever had. If and when it finally dies I will miss it.
love the 240sx
this is a great car. there is not much power in the strights but in the turns is where this car shines. i can easily out handle cars that are suppose to be superior in handling. plus there is a huge aftermarket for these cars. with a little money you can swap in a engine from Japan or turbo the engine already in the car.
Cool Car for less
I have had this baby for a good year and half. Well, what do I say this is the best value you can get on a sports car for this price. The looks always make you stand apart from the crowd. It is quick with 155hp and has pulled me out of many many traffic situations. I only wish it had a 6 cyl. I have around 115k on it now and plan to keep it forever and I confident i can hold on to it atleast till 200k.
A MUST Buy and FUN car
I owned a 95' 240SX SE for about two years and regret I ever sold it. My car was just stock everything and was still a fast and quick car. I put some Blizzak tires on it in the winter and NEVER got stuck in the snow. My only wish would have been if it was a stick instead of an automatic. It had a really cool gauge display and good sound from stock stereo. Really only a two seater though. Be careful with the front spoiler, as it gives limited ground clearance and is easily scraped on curbs when parking. Takes Premium Gas to run well. I only put that in my car. OVERALL was a perfect car for a single guy to cruise around in and got great gas mileage.
My Baby
This was my child. It was also my first car. It was the bat mobile. It was a hot car. It had great handling. Wonderful pickup and made an everyday drive to the market, exciting.
fun car to drive
Just bought this year a couple of days ago, my first car (other than the crappy Civic DX my parents bought me in high school). Carefully researched which car would be best for me (after all worked over 2 summers and part- time during the school year) so it better be a good purchase. saw the 240sx, good looks and good acceleration. Great acceleration for only 160 hp and 155 lbs of torque (probably from it's weight of only 2750). Anyways this car is a blast to drive, handles great and RWD makes this car pick-up. I want more power though, so I'm probably gonna get those silvia engines from Japan.
Very decent car
Bought this car after a bad driver totaled my 94 sentra SE-R (loved that car.) This car had a lot to live up to and has really won me over. I have traveled across the country and back in it many times, it nevers fails to perform in an outstanding manner. Only thing other than oil/brakes/belts/hoses/tires was a starter motor at 99,000 miles.
Gone but not forgotten
I bought this car (SE version) new in '95. Loved it - it had manual transmission - great handling, nice pickup, all in all a great sports car. Would have loved to keep it, but the ex won it. She traded it in for a Honda truck. I guess there is no accounting for taste.
240sx
Awsome car , seems to be built for me , love the RWD, the gearing, and plenty of torque
This is a Great Car !!!
Great, fun car!!! White, alloy wheels, sunroof. Sister had accident while driving it (facial damage,engine/frame ok) Insurance totalled b/c repainting/exterior would cost more than worth, well, we bought it back from insurance co and are having it painted by friend who owns a body shop. Could not get rid of it that easy!!! Really love this car! Received many compliments & offers to buy car off of me... even though it was almost 10 years old!!! Very rare car. Not many on hwy. Very sharp looking!!! Couldn't put this one away just yet!!! =)
great all around
this car is a very fun car to drive with it's "peppy" 2.4L 4 cyl. combined with rear wheel drive and near perfect balance. you won't be dissapointed.
great stock car
this is my second 240, i had a 90, and this one being a 95 a lot of the interior pieces just look newer, its a lot of fun to drive and for the cost is a great deal, with the growing popularity over the past few years the aftermarket is crazy, sooo many parts to modify it. great car, easy to work on, buy one
240sx's for everyone! :)
Well after my sister showed me her "purple" base 240sx, I fell in love! Not too soon after, I found a maroon SE with 61K and scooped her up! Wow, I was impressed. This car is torquey, quick, and lives for turns; did I mention they live forever? My sister just rolled over 219K with hers, and my baby is just coming up to 95K. Not only are these cars great athletes, but between my sister and I, our cars have seen 13+ cross country trips. If you're looking for a versitile, comfortable, sexy little car (with a decent sized trunk I might add) that will last longer than a loan, look no further. I plan on collecting these someday! What a car!
clean
the 95 240sx is a very comfortable car and is very nice to drive. i came from driving a front wheel drive car and it just doesnt' feel the same. 240sx has much more handling and power.
reliable car
i purchased this car a year ago and i must say i have not had any break downs on me since i bought it. the vehicle was in bad shape when i did get it, but if you find it in good shape its worth the 4-6k they go for. mpg are a lot higher than listed, i do around 23-26 city around 30 highway in a manual, and i do not drive under 2k rpm either, so thats very good for me. car handles corners like no other and the best part of this car is that is rwd! invest to get a vlsd and its a ton of fun in the rain and even better handling on pavement.
Best Damn Car(s) I ever bought.
ATTENTION NISSAN. . . . PLEASE SELL THE 180SX/SYLVIA IN THE US AGAIN!!!!! This is my second 240SX. . . .and just like the '91, my '95 is still going strong and trouble free. . .nothing other than regular maintenance required for a combined total of 206,000 trouble free miles (120k for 91' & 86k on the 95'). Performance from the relatively small engine (2.4l) is excellent. The handling is superb (rear driver)! The balance is near 50/50. The car looks good and is rare everywhere I drive (yes people still ask me what it is and assume it is a new model they have not seen yet!). My only complaint is that it requires premium fuel.
Get one while you can...
Had this car for a few months now, and I've put it through its paces on mountain roads. Even with 160k miles on it, this car still runs and drives amazingly. Very sound mechanically, and it gets great gas mileage too. The only problem I've had was a bad O2 sensor. Typical for a car this old. I had been wanting a 240 for a few years, and now that I have one, I'm not let down at all. However, if you live in an icy / snowy climate, and you've never had a RWD car, you might want to reconsider purchasing a 240, as driving in winter weather is always an adventure. Many do not have ABS or a limited slip differential, and sandbags in the trunk doesn't help much.
Best Car for Your Money!
These cars are absolutely incredible. I love mine. Black with leather and power everything, sunroof, limited-slip differential, 5-spd. trans. The 2.4L is torquey and great in the curves. With a header, highflow cat., and cold air intake, the difference is very evident. Stock suspension is a little soft but aftermarket is enormous. I have put this car through a lot, drifting, racing, driving hard in the NC mountains, and it has held up very well. With a little money these cars can put to shame many so called "superior" sports cars. When turbocharged these engines can put out over 700 hp and can outhandle and outrun almost anything.
Great Car
I bought this car 7 years ago with 70,000 it now has 157,000 miles. Repairs so far, replaced water hose and mass air flow meter. Mass air flow cost $50 from the junk yard, $800 from the dealer. Parts are cheap and plentiful at the junkyard. I have black leather interior form the factory, its nicer than a BMW. The exterior is red original paint holding up well, I park in garage. Performance is stellar even with automatic. It has an awesome posi track so I can drift corners on dry pavement and do figure eights in the rain. MPG 22 when I am driving hard, 25 normal driving. If you can get a nice stock one you will love this car.
My 240SX
Despite the abuse I give this car, it has held up well for the near-13 years I've had it. (Only 104k miles, tho.) I just put on the 3rd set of tires ($135+ ea, gack), and I think the clutch is making whining noises, but really, that's about the only costs besides oil changes I've ever incurred. I can usually take anyone on accelerating from stop with the 5-spd manual T, and I like how it corners (except in wet weather or snow, thank G I live in Cali.) I use it for Home Depot runs, and have carried plenty of bags of concrete and 10-ft 2x4s using the fold-down access to the trunk. And still on original struts. Strangers regularly ask to buy this car from me for their teens.
engine and brakes
I have had all kinds of cars But the engines in these things are the worst I've ever had to deal with. I've had 2 of these in the family and it's gotten where I can't stand opening the hoods on these things any more. It's always something . from the fuel pumps to the injectors from the exhaust to the brake calipers.
240 SeXy
When I test drove this car for the first time, i thought: Wow. This is a very good performer. Four Cylinders making the rear wheels spin like crazy? thats insane! I would definitley reccomend this car for kids buying their first car that want something to seriously drive
