- State Rebate for Retail or Lease$2,500Restrictions:
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) offers up to $2,500 through the Light-Duty Motor Vehicle Purchase or Lease Incentive Program (LDPLIP) for the purchase or lease of an eligible new light-duty motor vehicle powered by electric drive. If leasing, lease term determines grant amount which varies. To qualify:
- Purchase or Lease (three-year or longer term): $2,500
- Lease (two-year to less than three-year term): $1,665
- Lease (one-year to less than two-year term): $832.50
- Persons who purchase or lease an eligible new light-duty motor vehicle in Texas on or after September 1, 2023, are eligible to apply for a rebate.
- The applicant must commit to operating and registering the vehicle in Texas for at least one calendar year (12 months) from the contract effective date.
- Vehicles purchased directly from or through an out-of-state franchised dealer are not eligible for this grant.

- Complimentary Charging for RetailRestrictions: This program is a charging agreement between Volvo Car USA and Electrify America. Customers who purchase a new C40 Recharge will receive 250 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of complimentary charging on the Electrify America network. Complimentary credit expires if not used within the first 3 years of vehicle ownership. Once credit is depleted, a 1-year complimentary subscription to the Electrify America Pass+ membership will take effect, enabling drivers to charge at discounted rates. Offer is non-transferable. See your participating dealer for details.

2023 Volvo C40 Recharge Plus 4dr Hatchback AWD (electric DD)
Really like the C40 Recharge a lot. But for its premium price there are a few not so premium things to call out.
The Ride; very firm and choppy. Of course the obsession with larger and larger wheels doesn't help here.
Glass roof doesn't open and lack of a shade.
No Headsup display
No Ventilated seats
Seats aren't up to Volvo Standards
Some cheap … plastic
The GOOD!
This car MOVES and handles quite well for what it is
Fit and Finish are excellent
Sufficient range for MY use. Yes many will say I need XXX before I'll even consider an electric car when in fact they only drive 20-50 miles a day. But what about if I want to drive across country....when is the last time most have done this?
Quickish charging speed
Love the styling.
For the MSRP Volvo needs to up the game. I got the Federal Tax Credit, a $5000 State REBATE, $2500 Costco Rebate, $1000 Volvo Loyalty, and a $500 A-Plan rebate. So for $15+k off the MSRP it was reasonably priced.
