    The Camry Perfected!

    New Camry Guy, 05/26/2024
    2025 Toyota Camry SE 4dr Sedan AWD (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
I just purchased my 2025 Toyota Camry SE on May 21st. I had been driving a 2016 Prius for over a year and prior to that a 2010 Prius for 3 years. I have been very impressed with Toyota's hybrid technology and the 2016 was a great car but I wanted an upgrade in Technology and performance. I was considering the new Prius but after looking at them in person they are downsized and not nearly … as practical as the 2016. Yes they look sporty but just not as functional and I have read lots of issues concerning the odd 19-in tire size and lack of spare which I have to have as I drive 25k miles a year. When I found out about the new Camry coming out I decided to wait. After test driving one I was very impressed! Soon after I found the trim and color I wanted. I have driven mine so far about 800 miles and I will say this car is as close to perfect as you can get for a hybrid. It has lots more room than the Prius, a spare tire, the suspension is dialed in perfect if you like a firmer tighter ride than the SE is perfect if you want softer get an XLE. The new version of Toyota safety sense 3.0 is like it says in the review near flawless. It's not intrusive and actually is very good at anticipating situations. There are no sudden movements or harsh breaking so far. The car will actually stear itself with the cruise on. The Edmunds review is spot on to what I have experienced. Wireless Android auto works well, and the base audio sounds decent. I will say this is the nicest car I have ever owned and don't think anyone would be disappointed within reason. It is the perfect balance of sporty, practical, and great gas mileage. I was used to getting around 60 MPGs with the Prius so far I'm only getting 45 with the Camry. The Camry is not easy to hypermile as the Prius was very easy to, but I'm enjoying the extra horsepower and sporty driving Dynamics. I'm very happy with my purchase and plan to keep this car for a very long time. 6/14 update: now with 1500 miles getting 47-53 mpg per trip with normal driving! The longer the trip the better it gets. Love the new Camry!
