What an incredible EV

2026 Subaru Uncharted Sport 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
I purchased the Uncharted Sport in Habenaro Orange.
I’ve been after this vehicle since I first saw it’s press release a year ago and had the great good fortune to get one of the first ones in the Phoenix area.
If you want a hard-core snooty EV, this probably isn’t for you. It doesn’t have one pedal driving (thank God) and its charging speed and range aren’t perfect (yet) but close … enough.
However, if you’re looking for an easy to drive and live with EV, want some basic off roading ability, great handling and 13 second quarter mile times this is your vehicle. It has the perfect balance of screen/button interface as well.
This is my first EV and so far it’s been awesome. The raised dash pod is wonderful. More information and much easier to see than the HUD in my wife’s Lexus. Off hours charging (level 2) runs me about $11 for a full (280ish) charge.
Light off roading in the loose sand with X-Mode works great! Not sure I want to risk the battery pack on anything more involved….
The ride is quiet and composed with surprisingly good handling. The seats have side bolsters and are really supportive and comfortable. It is way sportier than any SUV not wearing a M or AMG badge (my other car is a BMW Z4 so I have a good perspective). Also, after spending a far amount of time trying the base audio system vs the HK upgraded audio in the GT I went with the base unit. It’s very good and I honestly couldn’t tell much difference with the HK unit.
Space behind the rear seat is great for clubs and gear, but the back seat is cramped. I also tried the Solterra which has a ton of back seat space but I liked the Uncharted’s styling and didn’t need the space.
Yes this is really a re-badged Toyota (something the magazine reviews keep bringing up as a negative but in reality who cares. Toyota’s quality control and reliability is awesome), but the styling is much better, you get X-mode and buying a Subaru was a low pressure fun experience.
The only negatives are the Sport trims wheels don’t hold a candle to the GT’s and the Panoramic roof doesn’t open on the GT. Go test drive one and be prepared to be impressed!!!
