2027 Chevrolet Bolt LT 4dr Hatchback (electric DD)
Our first electric car and first GM that we ever bought new. Long time Japanese brand purchaser, Honda first then Subaru, we wanted something small for my wire to drive. She commutes about 35 miles each way and has always liked small cars for their ease in parking and maneuverability (she works in Paterson NJ) in the city. I wanted an electric car this time around since gas has been … north of $4 a gallon and my son had bought a Kia EV and liked it a lot. We have other vehicles in the house, a Ford Ranger pickup and for now the old Subaru Outback she was driving. I had 240V in my garage so it was easy to hook up the level 2 charge cord that came with the car. We both really like driving our new white Bolt LT, it drives very similarly to any other small sedan. The electric power steering is very light albeit without a lot of road feel and the brakes with the regen function are easy to modulate. Lots of interior seating room at the cost of storage space in the back. My wife said whatever we bought it would have to have all the safety features and this one does including blind spot, pedestrian detection and active cruise control. Seats are comfortable for us, we aren't very tall so lots of head and knee room. The car is quiet, and quick and has a solid feel. The dash and info system are now google based with 8 years of free connectivity for the maps and other apps that you can download from the google store. No Apple carplay or Android auto but I don't miss them since the maps app is better than the phone and Spotify is native on the screen. No spare tire with this car is a bummer, but I was able to find one on the bay and it fits under neath the rear floor. Getting close to 4 miles per KWH and with our current electric rate at 14 cents that about 25-30 miles per dollar or about 100 mpg with $4 gas. This car has an LFP battery which should last longer and can be charged regularly to 100%
