2025 Cadillac OPTIQ Sport 1 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
I’m new to the Cadillac brand trading in my incredible Lexus RX 350 to try something new. This is a nice comfortable ride, very appealing cosmetically. First EV, love the acceleration and the charging at home has worked so far but Level 2 install is scheduled.
To complain - the cell phone interface is absolutely disappointing, and there is no rear windshield wiper, but dollar for … dollar, it’s a great buy.
It is well-equipped and I prioritized vehicle color so I have a Sport 1 with 21 inch wheels; it has great curve appeal! The rear seats have ample room for a 6 foot tall individual. The vehicle has a distinctive look, and the EV range appears to be consistent with projections. I have concerns about the long-term wear of the fabric/canvas accents over time so that is needing to be scotch guarded. I’ve never owned a GM product before so I am skeptical about the extreme depth of the dashboard and extended hood length, but the seats and suspension seem to be well-tuned to prioritize comfort.
The main complaint is that the dashboard interface is less user-friendly for wireless interface and there is no foot kick sensor to open the rear cargo door.
My other vehicle is a BMW X5 and in it - I feel preppy because the ride is much more stiff and sporty feeling, so I enjoy the trade off as I do feel more executive and luxurious in the Cadillac. To be very particular, the BMW distinct advantage is the seat extension behind my knees, which provides extra comfort. We absolutely loved our Lexus and yet the Optiq has not presented any regrets.
