2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Consumer Reviews

Great SUV at a very attractive price!
I looked at several mid-sized SUVs to replace my Ford Transit Connect passenger van, including offerings from Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, and Volkswagen. Being a former owner of 4 Mitsubishi vehicles, I decided to look at the Outlander, and am I ever glad that I did. I like it so well that I bought a second Outlander, as I needed a new car for my disabled partner to drive. Both of them are in the SE trim, which is very well equipped. One thing that the Outlander offers that few other competitors don't is a third-row seat that folds flat to make a generous loading space. However, it is miniscule and suitable only for very small children or pets that can fit in it and get into it through the folded second-row split bench seat. We don't have either small children or pets in the household, so the third-row seat will remain folded down. It's all in the details, and Mitsubishi has made some very positive changes for the 2025 model year. I heard complaints about overly light steering in the prior years as well as rough ride and high noise level. These complaints were certainly addressed by Mitsubishi for 2025. The steering is now well-weighted and gives the driver some road feel. The suspension in the 2025 now handles rough pavement with aplomb, and the car is VERY quiet. It is so quiet that when engine is running and stopped, you can hardly hear it from inside or outside the car. The exterior styling is somewhat bold and unusual, certainly differentiating it from other mid-sized SUVs, but I find it attractive (your mileage may differ). The interior is unbelievably posh for this price point and well executed with good fit and soft touch surfaces everywhere you would want them. The SE seats have a sueded fabric insert in the center surrounded by simulated leather, and they are very comfortable in both the first and second rows. In hot Florida I appreciate not sitting on uncomfortably warm all-leather seats. I was parked next to a Lincoln Aviator SUV, and to be frank, the Outlander's interior looks posher than the Lincoln. Leg room is great in both first and second rows. The technology that Mitsubshi has incorporated seems state of the art. The infotainment screen is large and sharp, and the audio system by Yamaha that is standard equipment blows me away - probably the best stereo system I have ever had in one of my cars. So far fuel mileage has been in the upper 20s. There are all types of safety-related technologies, such as collision avoidance, lane centering blind spot warning, and front, rear, and side cameras to help with parking and visibility when navigating tight spaces like narrow alleys. Apparently, Mitsubishi is #6 in reliability for its vehicles and low annual repair and maintenance costs, and they give you several free services. The warranty is about the best in the business, so you will not have to buy a protection plan as insurance. Overall, the Outlander is awesome and a terrific value, and we now have fraternal twin SEs in the household, one pearlescent white and one dark gray metallic.

Impressive ride
This SUV has been everything I hoped it would be. The engine and transmission is perfectly suited to my driving style. I might not win drag races but that's not why I purchased this vehicle. It accelerates smoothly and achieves merging speeds without causing any concerns. The exterior is quite impressive looking good and not a carbon copy of all the other SUVs in its class. It feels and drives much larger than it looks. The interior is impressive as well. The materials look top notch. There is almost every option you could desire to make your driving experience a pleasurable and safe experience. The audio system is not the highest quality system made but it does the job. I didn't buy the vehicle to listen to music I bought it to get me from point A to point B as safely and comfortably as possible. I rarely turn on my radio anyway. I am thoroughly satisfied with this vehicle at this point of my ownership.

A Lot of Car for the Money
I recently traded in my 2024 Toyota RAV4, and let’s just say my new 2025 Mitsubishi is everything the RAV4 wasn’t — and for less money. The ride and comfort are far superior, with an upscale look and feel that rivals much more expensive SUVs. It’s quiet, spacious, and makes a bold statement with its front-end design. The 8-speaker Yamaha sound system delivers premium audio quality and truly enhances the driving experience. The engine and transmission are smooth and, for the most part, impressively quiet. Mitsubishi did an excellent job with soundproofing — an area that was very important to me when choosing a new vehicle. I wanted a quiet, smooth-riding SUV, and this one delivers exactly that — something my RAV4 definitely did not. The leather seating is exceptionally comfortable. At 6'2", I appreciate the larger seating area, and the power seat controls make it easy to find the perfect position. Having power seating on the passenger side was also a pleasant surprise. With dual-zone climate control for the front and rear, generous cargo space for long-distance trips, and ventilated (A/C) seating — a must-have in Florida’s warm climate — this SUV checks every box. The oversized touchscreen display makes it easy to navigate settings and features while driving. If there’s one minor drawback, it’s that the voice-recognition system isn’t always accurate — though that’s something I’ve noticed in other brands as well. The Limited “bumper-to-bumper” warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles was also a strong factor in my decision, offering peace of mind and added value. Overall, in my opinion, my 2025 Mitsubishi delivers incredible value, refinement, and comfort — truly a lot of car for the money.

Cabin noise is atrocious
Purchased a 2024 SEL Outlander in February. On most roads the tire noise and wind noise is terrible. It wasn't noticeable during thevtest drive. Difficult to enjoy this vehicle. I highly recommend taking a extensive road test. The seating is comfortable and plenty or tech.

2024 Outlander SEL..never again
Worst new car I've ever purchased. The low profile tires give off terrible road noise unless your on a super smooth road. The suspension is weak...If you hit a pot hole or speed bump your going feel it and hear it..almost like there isn't any shocks. Cabin noise is very loud also..sounds like a window is cracked open when you drive. Very cheaply built in my opinion..it would be a deal if they sold them brand new for $25,000. I honestly can't wait to get rid of it. Vehicle didn't seem all that bad when I test drove it..went down hill from there.
