Fastest car i have ever driven, turbo
goes at about 60 thousand miles and
timing belt too, needs to be changed
after that the car will perform almost
new and stays or beats almost any new
cars out there.
I bought my Eclipse in June of '97
after graduating from college and have
never regretted the decision. Great
performance from a turbo 4-cylinder
and outstanding winter handling by the
AWD. Unfortunately, I'm selling it
this fall to upgrade to a more family
oriented vehicle. It's too bad that
Mitsubishi stopped making Turbos.
The Turbo!!! Easy to reach controls
(stereo, climate control) while
driving. Fold-down back seats allow
some space to haul. Smooth ride for a
sports car and comfortable leather.
Great Infinity stereo sound quailty.
Rear spoiler took awhile to get use to
seeing through the back window. Stock
mag rims are of poor quailty (oxidize
and bend easily) and cost $275 to
replace. Problems with stock
cassette/CD player. Back seat...not
Straight up. This car is beautiful. I
love the way it feels when your zoomin
by other cars out there. Yes, they
should've made it have a bigger engine
with more horsepower. But then again it
would've added more weight. But still
an all around great car. I love my baby.
Its gotta be the way she looks. Bright
red super-shinin.. gotta love it.
More horsepower so it can hang with
I was lucky enough to buy a used GSX
with amazingly low miles. After just
a few drives, I can see why the car's
4G63 engine is so revered. The car
excels at uphill climbs and high speed
maneuvering. Sadly, at low speeds it
turns like a boat due to its
All wheel drive, turbocharged engine,
great torque, and a total lack of
horrible Pontiac-esque doors so
painfully evident on third-gen
Shorter shifter, a boost gauge with
actual numbers on it, and a more
aesthetically pleasing spoiler.
