Solid Car for the Money
By Clark on

1999 Mercury Grand Marquis GS 4dr Sedan

The Grand Marquis is what most cars
today aren't: spacious and functional,
not "hot" and gimmicky. It's drive is
very smooth, expecially on the
highway. It's a true 6-passenger car,
unlike other pseudo-"full size" cars
that don't come close. Its huge trunk
gives you a lot of flexiblity, as long
as you're careful not to injure your
back (it depth makes for a hazard if
you're picking up something heavy).
The interior could use some refinement,
but not (we hope) at the expense of a
price increase, since VALUE is what
makes the Grand Marquis compete.

Best Features

Size, smooth highway ride, power, value pricing for a lot of included features.

Worst Features

1) At 5mph the the traction control performs a self-test that makes a bizarre, disconcerting rubber band-like noise 2)Needs +cup holders/interior storage space are needed (the only cup holder blocks the A/C) 3) Needs more interior DC outlets 4) Dated instruments need refresh
