1992 Mercury Capri XR2 Turbo 2dr Convertible


Not all Capris are junk, but be
careful. If this car were as
mechanically reliable as it was good-
looking, I'd probably still have it.

My Capri burned out every exterior
light bulb except one fog light. Both
CV Boots failed within 4 months of each
other. Nobody could figure out why the
engine pinged under load, and I always
used premium.

Best Features

Solid transmission, appearance, wheels on 1992-1993 XR2 version, being able to put the roof up or down at a long red- light (with practice).

Worst Features

Better suspension tuning, car was hyper- sensitive to alignment and balancing. Buy your engine parts at the Mazda dealer. Tell them you own a 323GT, we're talking 25 cents on the dollar for things like plug wires, knock sensor, air filter...
