Stay away from Mercedes!
Bad taste in my mouth., 11/30/2021
2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 170" WB Crew 3dr Van 4WD w/High Roof (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
This poor excuse for a vehicle is, once again, in the Mercedes dealer shop for a bad EGR valve. It has been there for 2 months and I just heard it will be at least another 6 months before Mercedes can manufacture the part. They won't even allow us to take the van as it is an emmissions problem. This is the 3rd time for the same issue and each time it has taken at least 2 months to get … repaired because, apparently, they have so many issues with this problem they can't keep up. Even pre covid it was the same thing so that's not the issue. I've appled to have the van bought back under our state lemon law and been rejected each time with no explanation. There are no loaners, no compensation no nothing for having our $70,000 vehicle spend half it's life in 'Mercedes Jail". Avoid this piece-o like the plague and avoid Mercedes as well. if they won't take care of a repeat commercial customer who are they going to take care of? Bad vehicle, BAD COMPANY! Say away. If I could give it zero stars I would.

2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500XD 170" WB Crew 3dr Van 4WD DRW w/High Roof (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Update: The differential has now been replaced. It is not perfect, but is a solid 75% improvement. Still a little whine but not close to how loud the whine was previously. The axle came so complete, it even had rotors and brake pads attached. The whole complete axle was replaced. Loving the van, still a shame that I had to go 12,000 miles before it was repaired, it took six months but is … now satisfactory.
1st van, I'm really liking it! 18-26 mpg, business

2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 170" WB Cargo 3dr Van w/High Roof (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
Waited for 2019, happy I did. A few warranty items taken care of by dealership. January got gelled up at -30. Lesson learned-only #1 diesel and additive to prevent. Dealership covered my $1500 bill!! Seems reliable and safe for the miles I put on in 4 different states for my business. Note: seems much different than all the Mercedes sedans that I have owned. I shouldn't compare. … Attention to details in chassis panel gaps, wavyness of panels, just doesn't seem "perfect". Yes, plenty of power, but that decreases mpg. It's there when needed. 18-26 mph on v6 diesel. High profile is challenging on windy days, but it has a safety slow down feature that prevents tipping. Overall, 10 months in I'm satisfied. Would recommend.

We have a 2019 Sprinter diesel in our small delivery fleet and it has been a real disappointment. It is sitting once again at the dealer where it has been for over 2 months and I just heard that it will likely be another 6 months before the EGR valves are back in stock and it can be fixed. This is the 3rd lengthy stay at the shop for the same issue and each time it has taken months to … get the part so it must be a very common issue. As it is an emissons control problem they won't let the van even be taken from their lot so our van is in Mercedes Jail once again! I have appled to Mercede to take the van back under our state lemon law twice and each time have been turned down without any reason being given. Now we will have to file for arbitration and then I guess we get to go to court! Mercedes has offered NOTHING to help assuage the fact that we've had use of the vehile barely half the time we've owned it. No loaners, no compensation, no nothing! I would stay away from the diesels and even the company as if they won't help a commerical customer who buys a vehilce for 70K who are they going to help? Bad vehicle, bad company. Stay away.
