2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE Consumer Reviews

Love this car.
My wife talked me into getting this car, I was a little reluctant at first but after the first 500 miles I'm very happy I did. The ride is impressively smooth, quiet and very comfortable. The infotainment system is not as complicated as I thought and voice control works great. I've had Mercedes vehicles in the past and I can tell you they really came a long way as far as technology is concerned. People always figure that oh it's a Mercedes it must cost a fortune but in reality, the way I had my car configured the price is right there with other luxury cars like Lexus, Acura, Lincoln, BMW and Audi and in some cases cheaper than the others and with more value. The other car I considered was the BMW X5. Really liked this car but much less room than GLE especially in the back seats. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and hopefully will remain that way for years to come. If you do decide on the GLE get the 450 with the six cylinder engine it's much quieter that the 350 4 cylinder and gets an impressive 25 mpg on the highway.

The more we drive it the more we like it!
We just traded in our 2019 450e Wagon. We very much loved that car. Gave serious thought to getting another wagon but have never liked the last revision of the “almost an suv / almost a wagon” direction MB took. MB did just introduce a gorgeous new wagon with euro specs but at over $100,000, that’s just to steep. For us the two vehicles under consideration were the BMW X5 and the MB 450 GLE. The X5 was nice but the instrument panel layout was cluttered and the excellent driving experience was not enough to win us over. As an ex-automobile company designer, not crazy about `where BMW’s exterior designs are going. The look seems harsh and aggressive which surely caters to younger buyers. It didn’t work for us. The GLE, IMHO, had a softer yet agressive appearance and really had the richer and more comfortable ride. Of great importance was the instrument panel layout. It had an excellent mix of touch screen commands, voice commands and old fashion touch commands. I feel that touch screen commands have gone a bit too far and the auto industry may want to rethink the balance of traditional vs new tech commands. We did look at the GLE 350 as well as the GLE 450. The 4 cylinder Turbo in the 350 just didn’t seem to be a good fit to push such a large vehicle. The 6 cylinder in the 450 seemed like a better fit. Of interest to us has been the introduction of the micro-hybrid in the drivetrain. It does give the initial acceleration an additional boost. The more we drive the GLE, the more we like it. We look forward to many more years of great rides in the vehicle.
