2003 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G55 AMG 4WD SUV (5.5L 8cyl 5A)

Review

This car is horrible. From the day I
bought it I've had nothing but
problems. The dealership people are
inentive to the problems I've been
having. The service deparment is
constantly on backorder for parts and
it is overall a bad experience. This is
the first time that I've bought a
Mercedes (happy BMW owner) and Chrysler
quality is really showing itself in
this SUV.

Best Features

Unique styling.

Worst Features

Where do I begin... If you enjot driving your car for a week out of the month and having it in sevice the rest of the time - this is the car for you. If you enjoy spending countless hours at the service department month after month - this is the car for you. .....

Review

I just got my G55 AMG the other day and
i knew this one was for me. My old
Laforza that i was imported just didnt
cut it. I think this has to be the best
SUV ever!. The sound of the engine
dunring acceleration is a classy roar
and the transmission shifts great.
Being the 6 foot 3 inch foot docter i
am, i have great all around visiblity.
It would be nice to be a little farther
away from the steering wheel but i
live. If ur sigle or even if you have a
family, this is a great car!

Best Features

Classy engine, smooth transmission, visiblity, go-power, interior and exterior styling, side tail pipes (very cool), beefy tires, heated steering wheel, and 3rd headrest in back seat (its the U.K. man in me!)

Worst Features

Well, not too much to say but I would like a little more room and the tires could be a little bigger. I would also like to see the E55's engine in here and a pare of xenon headlamps. Standard beige interior would be nice and they should make a convertible G55 AMG.

2003 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G500 4WD SUV (5.0L 8cyl 5A)

Review

This my third high-end SUV, and it is
my best by far. The unique styling is
very eye catching. All of the
creature comforts offered in the G500
are comparable to those of the S and
CL classes. The comfort seat makes
long drives or sitting through
protracted traffic jams a very
comfortable experience. Couple the
seats with the upgraded sound system
and can almost shut out the rest of
the world. The all-terrain tires can
offer a fairly stiff ride, but that
can be remedied by replacing them with
a softer, wider tire that is more
suited for highway driving.

Best Features

The navigation is my most favorite feature. The next two would be the upgraded Harmon Karden sound system and the comfort seats.

Worst Features

If I were to change anything on the G500, I would increase the legroom for the rear seat passengers and add 50 more horsepower to the engine.

Review

I had a problem with the so called
safety features from day one- the ESP
would engage going around any corner
and the car would swerve into the
oncoming lane. It took 4 trips in 4
months to get someone to actually drive
the car and discover that there indeed
was a defect in the system. By that
time I wanted nothing to do with this
unsafe vehicle.

Best Features

It looks good parked in my driveway here it will stay until I can get rid of it.

Worst Features

The dealers might try listening to concerns by the buyers rather than assumbing that nothng could be wrong with a Mercedes. (I ave 2 others that I love)
