Used 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Diesel Consumer Reviews
Perfect Solution
This car offers a great ride coupled with outstanding fuel economy, good looks, and a social conscience. Sat, Nav, sound system are all top quality. Worth every penny!
160,000 miles and still running strong
I bought my 2006 Mercedes E320 CDI new in October 2006 and marvel at it's low maintenance costs, quality of ride and great milage. We have taken this car from Texas to California on three occasions as well as traveled to North Carolina with another trip to Florida. Since the car is now 17 years old we have dropped the collision coverage and our cost to insure is very reasonable. The fit and finish of the car still make the car look great and the almost 800 mile range when traveling on the highway make it hard to beat. The only regret is that newer vehicles have backup camaras and other safety features like lane departure warning. At least I can play all of my old cassette tapes in this car. If you are not concerned with keeping up with the Jones and looking for a safe, inexpensive car with low operating costs (including insurance) look for a comparable model.

The true Mercedes-Benz
I bought this car when it was less than 6 months old with 4000 miles on it. I have had no problems with it at all and the drive and fuel economy is excellent. My only problem is that it is a bit too conservative for me, but after all I'm coming from a V8 BMW. But you've got to love the 37MPG for the 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. The interior is so much nicer than any of it's competitor's and there is enough space for 4 adults, even for long drives. I have installed the iPod option after market and it is the best thing you can ask for. Forget CD changers!
Excellent
Bought the E320 CDI to replace 04 BMW 530i. The difference in quality are amazing, for a $50k+ car the BMW is cheap and tacky inside. MB feels like it costs a lot more. Fuel consumption made me get the diesel, after test- driving both the gas and the diesel. The torque is stunning. Averaging 33mpg combined so far.

Beutifull styling, lots of torque so this car is fast - and I'm getting 34 MPG. Excellent handling on narrow rual roads that we drive in TN; love the electronic manual shifting. Most dealers order without many options, but many features (i.e. navigation) can be added by the dealer.
