2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E430 4dr Sedan

Review

We have 2000 E430 and have about 60,000 miles on it. So far, we had to spend over $9,000 on repairs ranging from A/C to differential leaks! It is a well designed and good looking car but the MB's quality is sub-par. Unless MB improves the quality, we won't be touching another MB for a long long time.

Best Features

Look, power, and interior/exterior designs. Driving is fun.

Worst Features

Quality - build a car that does not breakdown every few months!

2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E430 4dr Sedan

Review

Car has excellent ride and handling with 6.5 sec. 0-60 time. Does not get the cops attention but going 90+ feels like doing 40. Comfort for 4, excellent sound system. Very good brakes, spacious trunk. Mileage is consistently in the mid 20's highway running at 80.

Best Features

Overall feel and acceleration

Worst Features

None. Glad that it is not overly complicated and places emphasis on driving instead of gadgets like some newer models.

2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E320 4dr Sedan

Review

Great car! Since new it gets 30-32mpg on highway trips and 21-22mpg on daily 14 mile comute on surface streets! Very quick acceleration and handles well at high speeds. Catalytic converters both expired at 73000 miles, just within the warranty. Front lower control arm had to be replaced at 70,000 miles and the cost is pretty steep.

Best Features

Fuel economy and nav system

Worst Features

Overall quality is very good, but could be better considering the price of the vehicle.

2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E320 4MATIC 4dr Sedan AWD

Review

One of the best cars I've ever owned. Rock-solid build, amazing quality inside and out, and top-notch engineering. The car has an understated and timeless elegance and beauty and its on-road performance is fantastic. Not exactly a high- performance car, but smooth and powerful. I haven't had a more than a minor problem in 6 years (dash bord lights) and it was taken care of under warranty. However, I am quite careful about maintaining and caring for my cars, so I rarely have had problems with any of my cars, Mercedes or otherwise. The dealership service is expensive, but I feel better knowing it's being taken care of completely.

Best Features

4MATIC AWD, georgeous interior, smooth performance, great engineering, safety, and efficiency (about 30 mpg highway)

Worst Features

Better dealer service proces, bigger cupholders, better radio recption.

Review

I'm still amazed and pleased by the quality and design of this car. It is problem free, even after 6 years, and the engine is as smooth, powerful. and reliable as ever. And it's as safe as cars can get. The interior is pure luxury with some of the highest quality materials and the exterior design is beautiful yet understated. Mercedes never "over-designs" like many of the luxury Japanese manufacturers so the styling ages very well. It is expensive to maintain, however. The dealerships are always anxious to squeeze as much out of you as they can. But you get what you pay for and, for me, it's worth every penny. The oldest car manufacturer on the planet knows how to build cars very well.

Best Features

Beautiful interior, heated seats, 4MATIC all-wheel-drive.
