Used 1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Consumer Reviews
awesome
awesome car! Love it-except for the goofy cup holder design! Good ride, comfy seats!
Exhilarating Disapointment
I was thrilled to get this wagon for our retirement vehicle. It had apprx one year left on the warranty; good thing! Rear load leveling shocks started leaking oil. Driver seat heater gave out. After warr. up, air flow sensor for engine gave out. Turn signal collar started rotating with lever. Leak developed in hose to rear load-level shocks, cost $354 to cut & reconnect hose.

Happy with the Benz
So far, it's great. I've only had my E- 320 Sedan for 2 months, but overall I love it. I switched from a Lexus LS400 that was comfortable but not "fun" to drive and was a gas guzzler. This car is fuel efficient, fun to drive, and turns heads. The features are fine -- I miss heated seats (I bought a 1998 used with out that option) but the dual climate control makes up for it. Very good sound system, very comfortable seats, excellent safety features.
Awesome!
My wife and I wanted a car that was safe, fun to drive, and that would last a very long time with minimal maintenance. This car is awesome! 1998 E430 Sport w/ESP and many great options. It is the 210W Chassis (95-99 model years?), one of the best series of M-B ever. Two MB mechanic friend both directed me to this year and model.
Sweet Car
Have not had this car long, bought it used with 60,000 miles as an alternative to a larger SUV. So far it has been perfect and fits our 3 kids just right. Three car-seats easily fit across the second row of seats and the 3rd row seats provides added seating versatility. The car was in excellent mechanical shape when I bought it. I did have to pay for sceduled maintenance and replace a few items due to normal wear and tear. Mercedes maintenance and replacement parts CAN be very expensive.
